"You Gotta Believe Me" Scary Story Contest
(The "Contest")
OFFICIAL RULES

1. Eligibility. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Many will enter; few will win. Void in Puerto Rico or where prohibited or restricted by law. Contest open to legal residents of the United States, between the ages of 6-14 at the time of entry. Contest not open to employees or the immediate family members, or household members (whether related or not), of individuals employed by MTV Networks ("Sponsor"), Sony Corporation of America, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, cable affiliates, licensees, advertising and promotional agencies, the independent judging organization, printing agents or any other entities involved in the Contest (collectively, "Contest Entities").

2. Contest begins 12:00am Eastern Time ("ET") May 26, 2006, and ends 11:59pm ET June 4, 2006 ("Promotional Period").

3. Contest Concept: In 200 words or less, tell us about your "You Gotta Believe Me" scary story. This should be an experience in your life when you had to get someone to believe a scary, bizarre or weird story.

4. HOW TO ENTER: Complete the Entry Form available at www.monsterhouse.nick.com during the Promotional Period. Use of profanities or the submission of false or misleading personal information by an entrant will be grounds for disqualification. Contest Entities retain sole discretion to determine whether entry information is profane, false, or misleading.

Limit one (1) entry per person. Entries that are illegible or incomplete or are longer than 200 words in length will be declared void. Entries must be submitted by 11:59am ET, June 4, 2006.

Limit one (1) prize per individual/household. Contest Entities are not responsible for entries that may be lost, late, delayed, deleted by computer malfunction or virus, mutilated and/or misdirected, or for typographical errors in the rules or entry forms. By participating, entrants (and entrant's parent/legal guardian) agree to these Official Rules. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned except as indicated herein. Any personal information collected from entrants through this Contest will be used by Sponsor only for the purpose of administering the Contest and services related to the Contest. With the exception of the use of winners' first name, last initial, city and state, Sponsor will not sell, share or otherwise disclose personal information of entrants with third parties. 5. JUDGING: Entries will be judged by an independent, Sponsor-selected panel of judges, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: (i) originality (20%); (ii) scariness (20%); and (iii) believability (60%). In the case of a tie, originality will serve as the tie-breaker. In the case of a further tie, scariness will serve as the final tie-breaker. Entries must be the original work of the entrant, and must not have won any previous awards or competitions. Sponsor reserves the right to have Sponsor-selected narrators read the winning stories. Sponsor reserves the right to post said stories on www.monsterhouse.nick.com as an audio podcast. Additionally, Sponsor reserves the right to upload the narrator-read stories onto the iTunes website, and to make them available, cost-free, to the general public.

Winners will be determined on or about June 13, 2006, and their parents will be notified via email. If any winner's parent or legal guardian does not respond to the instructions in the email within three (3) days of the email being sent, or if the notification email is returned as non-deliverable, or if Winners are found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited, and alternate Winners may be determined.

6. PRIZES:
GRAND PRIZE(S) [30] - Winners will receive a Monster House Prize Pack, which includes a T-shirt (Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $14.99), Hat (ARV: $14.99) and Button (ARV: $14.99).

Total ARV for Monster House Prize Pack is $34.97 each. Total ARV for all prizing is $1,049.10.

Winning stories will be read aloud by a Sponsor-selected narrator and posted on www.monsterhouse.nick.com as an audio podcast, and made available for free download on iTunes.com, pending iTunes approval. Apple Computer, Inc. is not a participant or sponsor of this promotion. Names of manufacturers are used for purposes of prize description only, and such use is not intended to suggest or imply the manufacturers' sponsorship, endorsement, or approval of Sponsor. No substitution, transfer, or redemption of prizes for cash, except that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may substitute a prize of equal value for any reason. Any depictions of prizes are for illustrative purposes only.

7. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: All entrants agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in these Official Rules, and agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor whose decisions in all aspects of this Contest shall be final and binding. This Contest is governed by the laws of the State of New York. If any part of these Official Rules is found to be invalid, all other parts will remain valid and enforceable. By acceptance of a Prize, and submission of entry each parent/legal guardian of a Prize Winner agrees on behalf of his/her child that (a) Contest Entities will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by Prize Winner against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a prize or participation in this contest or contest-related activities and (b) except where legally prohibited, Prize Winner (and his/her parent or legal guardian) grant (and agree to confirm that grant in writing) permission for Contest Entities and those acting under their authority to use the Prize Winner's first name, home state, and contest entry, for advertising and/or publicity purposes in perpetuity without additional compensation in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the world wide web, without notice, review or approval. Each Prize Winners' parent or legal guardian will be required to complete, sign, and return: (i) an Affidavit of Eligibility, (ii) a Liability Release, (iii) an Assignment of Rights and, (iv) where lawful, a Publicity Release within three (3) days of notification attempt and no later than June 20, 2006. If documents are not returned in a timely manner, or if any prize notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if any Prize Winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited, and an alternate Prize Winner may be determined. Without limiting the foregoing, all prizes are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages or exclusion of implied warranties so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. Check your local laws for any restrictions or limitations regarding these limitations or exclusions.

8. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest if it becomes technically corrupted. Contest Entities are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer systems, servers, or computer equipment, software, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage related to or resulting from participation in this Contest. By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements. In addition Contest Entities are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, unintelligible, illegible, postage due, stolen, returned, or undelivered, entries, mail, or for lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, miscommunications, failed computer, network, telephone, satellite or cable hardware or software or lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or failures of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network. Contest Entities are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest and assume no responsibility for any errors, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or tampering with or hacking of the website. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, cancel, suspend and/or terminate this Contest in whole or in part at any time during the Promotional Period for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation, in the event that the Contest is not capable of running as planned or as intended by these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or any Web page related to the Contest; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Contest will be ineligible to win any prize and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. In case of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, the owner of the email account associated with the entry may be deemed the entrant, at Sponsor's sole discretion, and must comply with these Official Rules and may be required to provide proof of ownership of the email account.

In no event will Contest Entities be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your access to and use of internet site www.monsterhouse.nick.com or the downloading from and/or printing material downloaded from said site. Without limiting the foregoing, everything on this site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages or exclusion of implied warranties so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
