Sparking Summer Hair

With help from a friend, you can be the STAR of any party with a super-star hair tattoo!

Getting started:

You can create your own hair cut-out by drawing a star on a piece of thick construction paper and carefully cutting it out with scissors. This will be your pattern for your cool hair tattoo. Use your imagination to create a variety of forms in different shapes and sizes, or purchase already-made patterns from your local craft store. Remember: hearts, butterflies and flowers are totally hip this summer!

Prepping your hair:

Wash with Suave Hair Vibe Berry Shampoo and get your hair clean and smelling great. Massage a quarter-size amount of Suave Hair Vibe Apple Max Hold Gel through damp hair and dry straight with a jumbo round brush.

Comb all hair into a ponytail, making a smooth surface for the hair tattoo. Have a friend help you place your cut-out on hair where shape is desired. Using a washable spray hair color or hair glitter, (you can find these at your local drug store or shopping mall) have a friend spray 3-5 inches from your hair until desired shape is fully covered. Remove cut-out and now you're the STAR of the party!

American Pride T-shirt:

A great way to express your stars and stripes is in a custom made patriotic T-shirt. Take an old white T-shirt or tank and cut the sides at the side seam of the shirt. With a hole puncher, punch small holes ½" from edge of shirt and 1" apart. Do this along both sides of the T-shirt. With red, white or blue ribbons, lace through the holes (like a shoelace) and tie at the bottom of shirt. For extra flair and style, draw bright stars on your T-shirt with fabric markers or paint, or try adding star patches, sequins and charms. Be creative and have fun!
