| Nickelodeon Online Nickelodeon Online has been serving kids and their parents with cutting-edge interactive content since the information superhighway was just an itty bitty dirt road. Our first sitelet debuted in 1995 and was dedicated mainly to Nickelodeon programming. Now, nearly a decade later, in the supercharged broadband era, it is home to a range of highly sophisticated entertainment and informational websites, including the pre-eminent sites for kids and their parents: nick.com and nickjr.com, respectively.
Along the way, Nick Online has also designed, built and maintained sites for a range of Nickelodeon movies including the "Rugrats" and "Jimmy Neutron" blockbusters, as well as designing the NickHotel site and sites for numerous other Nick partners. Oh yes, where you find yourself right now, everythingnick.com, is us too! And our audiences have responded. In their millions. Our sites attract huge numbers of visitors each month and the numbers keep growing. Maybe that's because our online games not only number in the hundreds, but also boast some of the most sophisticated interactive experiences you can find anywhere on the web. Or maybe it's because we've spent so much time and care in building sites that can recognize kids as individuals but in a totally safe and secure environment that doesn't compromise their privacy. Or maybe it's because we are a leader in TV and web convergence, where kids can be part of the script by voting online for the Kids' Choice Awards or U-Pick Live, or even see their game scores on TV. And the fact that nickjr.com is now the leading site for parents with preschoolers anywhere on the web means that parents are showing us the same trust that kids do. And that's not all. We've taken a couple of superhighway roadtrips to some unexpected, but really exciting destinations. For example, Nick Online has established services like the Nick Arcade where kids can own specially enhanced games that can be played offline. And interactive content that can be used on cellphones. And, through Nickelodeon Calls You, a service where parents can book special phone calls from Nick's animated celebrities. We have won a lot of awards in our time, but the two that stand out are the 2003 Webby and the 2002 Wired Kids awards from kids themselves. | Nick.Kids.us In 2004, Nickelodeon’s online division launched two new websites as part of the Dot Kids Act, established in 2002 to ensure safe spaces on the Internet for children under 13. The new web destinations, www.nick.kids.us for kids and www.nickjr.kids.us for parents and preschoolers, join existing sites www.nick.com and www.nickjr.com, and promise to offer viewers more opportunities to interact with their favorite animated and live-action TV characters.
Visitors of www.nick.kids.us can play popular nick.com games like SpongeBob's Jellyfish Shuffleboard SpongeBob SquarePants B.C. Bowling, The Fairly OddParents Big Superhero Wish Game and My Life as a Teenage Robot Techno Tennis. At www.nickjr.kids.us, fans can check out the Max & Ruby Toy Bowling Game, Dora's Star Catching Game, Blue's Matching Game, Oswald's Big Diner Specials Game and Little Bill's Captain Brainstorm's Adventure. Also included are Dora's Super Silly Costume Maker and online storybooks based on the shows "Blue's Clues," "Max & Ruby" and "Dora the Explorer." In creating the new sites, Nickelodeon Online worked closely with NeuStar, Inc., the company responsible for developing, implementing and operating the kids.us Internet address, which is open to all consumers, businesses, educators, government agencies and organizations with a U.S. presence to register Internet addresses and establish websites. |
