Nickelodeon, the world's only multimedia entertainment brand dedicated exclusively to kids, reaches a total of 287.6 million households in 162 territories worldwide via 28 channels, 22 branded program blocks, and two broadband services across Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim, CIS/Baltic Republics, Europe, Latin America, and the United States. Programming is also aired on third party broadcasters in major territories around the world, increasing Nickelodeon's exposure to 673.6 million households. Nickelodeon's international TV services also include digital channels in the UK, Australia, and Mexico. Digital channels such as Noggin, Nicktoons, GAS and Nick Too can be seen in the U.S. The company's portfolio of international businesses also includes 20 country-specific websites, Nickelodeon Movies, and global licensing and merchandising of consumer products featuring Nickelodeon's program franchises, such as "Rugrats," "Blue's Clues," "Dora the Explorer" and "SpongeBob SquarePants."

Nickelodeon is seen in 110.4 million households throughout the Asia Pacific, via channels and branded blocks.

  • Australia - Launched 23 October 1995, Nickelodeon Australia is seen in 1.2 million households and is the most popular cable and satellite channel dedicated exclusively to kids. Launching in the first half of 2004, Nick Jr. Australia is the first channel in Australia totally dedicated to preschoolers. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week via FOXTEL and AUSTAR digital platforms. It also appears as a regular block weekdays on Nickelodeon.   • Philippines - Launched 5 November 1998, Nickelodeon is a 24-hour English language kids' channel distributed via cable.
  • Japan - Launched 15 November 1998, Nickelodeon is a 24-hour Japanese language kids' channel broadcast & broadband service reaching 300,000 households. www.nickjapan.com
  • Nickelodeon Asia is a pan-regional feed reaching Brunei, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Palau, and Singapore. The Nickelodeon Asia feed became available in Indonesia in February 1999, in Malaysia on October 1999, and in New Zealand on February 2000, all available 24 hours a day. Nickelodeon in Singapore launched March 2001 and is a 24-hour service. Nickelodeon in Hong Kong launched February 2002 and is available 24 hours a day on Broadband IP service. Also, launched on 18 February 2004, Nickelodeon Asia in partnership with Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting Limited has a 24-hour channel on Galaxy's new pay-TV service in Hong Kong. Launched March 2003, Nickelodeon is also a 24-hour channel seen in 6.3 million households in South Korea and in the English-language, Korean subtitled SkyLife channel. www.nicksplat.com
  • India -Launched October 1999, Nickelodeon is a 24-hour kids' channel seen via cable and reaches 18.9 million households in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. In July 2002, the India feed was also extended to one million homes in Pakistan. Nick India is available in both Hindi and English.


ASIA PACIFIC BRANDED PROGRAMMING BLOCKS

  • China - Launched June 2001, 62.9 million households throughout China can also see Nickelodeon as a daily, half-hour Mandarin Chinese language block via over 100 cable and terrestrial stations nationwide. In addition, on 23 March 2004, Nickelodeon's "CatDog" and "The Wild Thornberrys" premiered on CCTV's new children's channel, airing for 1.5 hours daily, to almost 386 million households across China, marking the debut of Nickelodeon animation in China. Also, Nickelodeon and CCTV will co-produce China's first awards show for kids in 2004, extending Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards to China.
  • Japan - Nickelodeon is broadcast as a branded block on various channels for 1-2 hours a day in 500,000 households.
  • Singapore - Launched 8 January 2001, Nickelodeon is available for one hour a week via Media Corp, reaching all 900,000 television households in Singapore.
  • Malaysia – Nickelodeon is available on NTV7 for two hours a week in Malaysia.
  • Korea – Launched March 2003, Nickelodeon is seen by 6.3 million households throughout Korea as a daily 5.5 to 6 hour Korean-dubbed programming block daily on JEI23TV
  • Nickelodeon on 3 (New Zealand) – This 2-hour terrestrial block launched on TV3 in New Zealand on 08 November 2003.
  • Indonesia - Nickelodeon is available on TV7 and Lativi terrestrial.
 

EUROPE

Nickelodeon is seen in 24.2 million households throughout Eastern and Western Europe, via channels and blocks.
  • UK - Launched 1 September 1993, Nickelodeon UK reaches 9.1 million households in the UK. Website: www.nick.co.uk
    • UK Digital Channels – Nickelodeon UK launched two digital channels during September 1999. Nick Jr. is the first digital channel dedicated exclusively to preschoolers reaching 8.5 million households, and Nick Replay is a time-shifted version of Nickelodeon seen in 7.1 million households.   • UK Digital Channels - Nickelodeon UK launched two digital channels during September 1999. Nick Jr is the first digital channel dedicated exclusively to preschoolers reaching 7.9 million households, and Nick Replay is a time-shifted version of Nickelodeon seen in 6.6 million households.   • CIS - Launched 15 November 1998, Nickelodeon is a 24-hour Russian language kids' channel seen in 16 territories including the Baltic States.
  • España (Spain) - Launched 1 March 1999, Nickelodeon is a 12-hour Spanish language kids' channel. Website: www.nickelodeon-es.com
  • Hungary - Launched January 2000, Nickelodeon is a 12-hour Hungarian language channel available via cable systems.
  • Netherlands - Originally launched on September 2002 as a 13-hour channel, Nickelodeon now broadcasts 24 hours a day (since 14 July 2003) and is an advertiser-supported Dutch kids' entertainment channel for 3-15 year-olds. Website: www.nickelodeon.nl
  • Belgium – Originally broadcast on 1 April 2003 on music broadcaster TMF, Nickelodeon is now getting 12 hours of broadcasting time in Flanders as of 15 January 2004 on its own children's channel. Website: www.nickelodeon.be
  • Israel – Launched July 2003, Nickelodeon is a localized Hebrew language digital platform channel that reaches 400,000 households.
  • Nick Europe/CEE – Airs in Eastern Europe incorporating Hungary, Malta, Romania, Serbia & Turkey.

EUROPE BRANDED PROGRAMMING BLOCKS

  • Greece - Launched 1 December 2001, Nickelodeon is broadcast via Polis for two hours a day on weekdays and eight hours a day on weekends on a digital platform.
  • Cyprus – Launched 22 December 2001, Nickelodeon is broadcast for ten hours a day on weekdays and seven hours a day on weekends on Lumiere TV.
  • France - A Nicktoons branded block launched 1 January 2003 is available 20 hours a week reaching 3.3 million households. A separate Nick Jr. branded block is available reaching 2 million households on Canal J's pre-school platform.
  • Russia - Launched 1 September 2003, this Russian language Nickelodeon animation program block broadcasts 7.5 hours a week, Monday through Friday on Russia's TNT-Teleset, bringing Nickelodeon's award- and ratings-winning programs to 90 million new viewers complementing the existing 24-hour Nickelodeon Russia cable channel and additional branded program syndication.
  • Serbia & Montenegro – Nickelodeon is available on B92 for three and a half hours a week in Serbia.
  • Turkey – Nickelodeon is available on CNBC-E for seven hours a week in Turkey.
  • Belgium – Daily 12-hour block on MTV, airing from 6 AM – 6 PM.
 
SOUTH AMERICA
Nickelodeon is seen in 64.8 million homes throughout Latin America and Brazil, via channels and blocks.
  • Latin America -Launched 20 December 1996, Nickelodeon is a pan-regional kids' channel transmitted in Spanish and English throughout Latin America. It is the fastest growing cable & satellite network in all of Latin America. Website: www.mundonick.com
    • Latin America (North Feed) is distributed to Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, and 28 Caribbean countries.
    • Latin America (South Feed) is distributed to Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
  • Brazil - Launched 10 August 1998, Nickelodeon is a 24-hour Portuguese language channel seen via cable and satellite. Website: www.mundonick.com.br

SOUTH AMERICA BRANDED PROGRAMMING BLOCKS

  • Mexico -Launched 12 July 1999, Nickelodeon is available in a 1-hour branded block on Televisa reaching 14.9 million households.
  • Venezuela - Launched 11 December 1999, Nickelodeon is a 90-minute Spanish language branded block on RCTV on Saturdays reaching 4.6 million households.
  • Brazil - Launched 6 January 2001, Nickelodeon is a 1.5 hour Portuguese branded block seen on Globo on Saturdays by 37 million households.
  • Honduras - Launched 9 September 2001, Nickelodeon has a 2-hour Spanish language block on TV Hondurena, reaching 500,000 households.
  • Ecuador – Nickelodeon is available on Teleamazonas for one hour each day in Ecuador.

SOUTH AMERICA – DIGITAL CHANNELS

In 2004, MTV Networks Latin America entered the digital age in Mexico with the MTV Networks Digital Suite. The U.S.-based service is comprised of five channels—MTV Hits, MTV Jams, VH1 Soul, VH1 Mega Hits and Nickelodeon's GAS—and will be carried at first in Mexico with initial carriage through Cablevision on its digital tier.

at Nite is seen in 88.0 million households in North America

  • US - Launched 1 April 1979, Nickelodeon continues to be the leading basic cable network in the U.S. (since 1995). Nick Jr. is a 5-hour block on the Nickelodeon channel catering to preschoolers every weekday morning. Nickelodeon launched Nick at Nite on 1 July 1985 to broadcast in the evening on the same frequency. Nick at Nite features classic sitcoms from the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s.   • US Digital Channels - Nickelodeon in the U.S. launched three digital channels in 1999. Noggin is the first-ever thinking network for kids seen in 34.9 million households, and Nickelodeon Games and Sports (GAS) features energetic sports focused programming seen in 16.8 million households. Nick Too, a time-shifted digital channel, features both Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite series and reaches 26.8 million households. MIDDLE EAST
  • Launched June 1996, Nickelodeon is available 8-10 hours, each day a week and seen in 100,000 households in 15 Middle Eastern countries on Gulf DTH.

AFRICA

  • Launched 12 June 1999, Nickelodeon is available in Africa two hours a day on MNET/KTV reaching 1.4 million households via direct-to-home satellite platform in 48 African territories. This marks Nickelodeon's first foray into Africa.

NICKELODEON PROGRAM ENTERPRISES

Nickelodeon's programming has been sold in over 100 countries, and broadcasts in 18 languages to 673.6 million households worldwide. The Nickelodeon catalogue has over 3300 half-hours of programming. Nickelodeon's international licensing and merchandising business is centered on the strategic roll out of these campaigns on a territory by territory basis, around key properties such as "Rugrats," "Blue's Clues" and "SpongeBob SquarePants." "Rugrats" is Nickelodeon's global franchise generating over a billion dollars via licensed merchandise including interactive home video and software, as well as live tours.
Nickelodeon has almost 600 licensees and promotional partners for "Rugrats" outside of the U.S. in territories such as the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Latin America and Spain. "SpongeBob SquarePants" is a global franchise for young viewers and adults alike, generating more than $800 million in retails sales in the U.S. in 2002 alone. In addition, it is widely distributed around the world, airing on all of Nickelodeon's International channels and major terrestrial broadcasters in Canada, France, Germany, UK, New Zealand, Brazil and Australia.
