agree to the following rules:

KID
1. I will ask you any question I think is worth knowing about.
2.   I won't let the fact that you (or I) may be embarrassed stop me from talking to you. This includes stuff like [_________________], which makes me feel a little uncomfortable.
3.   won't worry that you'll think I want to do something just because I ask you about it.
4.   I won't worry about looking stupid, even if other kids already know the answer or if I've asked you the same question before.
5.   I will keep my word that if you can't talk, or are not able to answer my question at the time I ask, I will be willing to wait a little.
6.   I won't say you are too old to understand.
7.   I will always respect you and our talks.

PARENT
1. I will answer all your questions the best I can, and without any lecturing.
2.   I won't let the fact that you (or I) may be embarrassed stop me from talking to you. This includes stuff like [_________________], which makes me feel a little uncomfortable.
3.   I won't assume that because you ask about something, that means you want to do it.
4.   I will try never to make you feel silly or stupid about the questions you ask. Trying to understand things is a sign that you are smart—not dumb.
5.   I will keep my word that if I can't talk at that moment, or if I can't answer your question, I will let you know when I can talk, and I'll get back to you with an answer.
6.   I won't say you are too young to know the answer.
7.   I will always respect you and our talks.
