Mike has day-to-day responsibility for the Nickelodeon business unit which creates the Webby award winning nick.com, the web's leading destination for kids between the ages of 6 and 14, and nickjr.com, the web's most popular site for parents and their preschoolers. Nick Online also publishes Everythingnick.com and Teachers.nick.com. The goal of the division is to make the Nickelodeon experience as interactive as possible for its audiences through a variety of richly convergent programs and original interactive entertainment which blend the power of Nickelodeon's brands, shows and characters with the unmatched technical and creative expertise of Nickelodeon Online's staff.
Mike has been working with Nickelodeon in various roles and locales for over ten years. He helped launch Nickelodeon UK in 1993 while Planning Director of a London ad agency and become so involved with the brand that he accepted an offer to become the UK channel's Director of Business Development in 1994. After a spell in this role, Mike became one of the core team that set up Nickelodeon's new cable and satellite TV service in Sydney, Australia in 1995. As founding Head of Marketing and Research down under, he was responsible for many marketing firsts, including creating Australia's first kid-dedicated website in 1996, a service that became the number one Australian kids' site. In 1997, Mike became General Manager of Nickelodeon Australia, and oversaw the entire operations of the much creatively decorated TV channel. In November 1999, Mike moved to New York to become General Manager of nick.com. He became General Manager of Nickelodeon Online in November 2001. Mike lives in New Jersey with his wife Kathryn and their three children, Greta, Jonas and Lena.
