Cyma Zarghami
Cyma Zarghami

President of Nickelodeon Television

Cyma Zarghami is President of Nickelodeon Television. In this role, Zarghami oversees all of Nickelodeon’s television businesses, including Nickelodeon’s digital services: Noggin, The N, Nickelodeon Games and Sports (Nick GAS) and Nicktoons. Zarghami also oversees all program production and development for Nick's television businesses, as well as marketing, programming and creative.

Under Zarghami’s leadership, Nickelodeon has been top-rated among all basic cable networks for more than eight consecutive years. Nickelodeon also reigns as the number-one network for kids on Saturday mornings surpassing all broadcast and cable competition. In addition, the network continues to produce some of the most original programming in the television industry.

A kids programming veteran, Zarghami has managed a continuous string of hits at Nickelodeon, including taking SpongeBob SquarePants to new heights, making The Fairly OddParents Nick’s newest hit, and building Dora the Explorer into the number-one preschool program in commercial television. Most recently, Zarghami reinvigorated Nickelodeon’s Rugrats franchise by launching its spin-off series All Grown Up to the highest ratings in the network’s history. Zarghami has also introduced many of Nick’s key signature programming concepts and achievements, including the extension of programming dayparts to kids when broadcast networks are not serving them; reigning as Saturday-morning ratings leader against all other programmers for six seasons; and breakthrough packaging concepts such as the interactive originals Slime Time Live and U Pick Live, a two-hour daily program where kids completely program the network with their favorite hit Nicktoons.

Zarghami also can be credited for adding several critically acclaimed original series to the network, including Little Bill, from creator Bill Cosby and Rocket Power from Rugrats’ creators Klasky Csupo. The network continues to provide kid-driven programming events, such as the Kids’ Choice Awards.

Zarghami began her career with Nickelodeon 17 years ago, rising through the ranks to play an instrumental role in the company’s marketing partnerships, initiatives and growth, including the launch of Nickelodeon UK in 1993 and Nick at Nite’s TV Land in 1996. Named EVP and General Manager of Nickelodeon, in 1996, she helped launch all of Nickelodeon's major dayparts, including the preschool block Nick Jr., SNICK (Saturday Night Nickelodeon) and TEENick. She also directs the network’s support of company-wide initiatives, including Let’s Just Play and the Kids Pick the President campaign.

Zarghami resides in New York City with her husband, George, and two sons, Liam and Ethan.
