Teachers.nick.com is the place
where teachers can get resources
for Noggin programming
|
Teachers.nick.com
is Nickelodeon's website dedicated to teachers and their students.
This site aims to be a resource for educators, offering easy access
to practical classroom media designed to enrich kids' educational
experience.
The teachers.nick.com
website launched in 1997 to support Nickelodeon's involvement in Cable
in the Classroom, an educational initiative for which Nickelodeon
and other networks provide commercial-free television programming
designed for classroom use. As part of our participation in Cable
in the Classroom, we broadcast our preschool and elementary programming,
free of advertisements, at prescribed times during the day. Teachers
can visit our website, look up the programming schedule and episode
descriptions, and choose to show a program in class that enhances
the day's learning. Our episode-based lesson plans are written by
teachers and incorporate nationally recognized standards-and they
can be downloaded for free.
Since
our launch, teachers.nick.com has expanded our initial content areas
to include special Nickelodeon initiatives like The Big Help, Kids
Pick the President, and other online "Teacher Features"
such as Inside Kids, a newsletter that provides Nick's current research
on kids' lifestyles, feelings and behavior. In the fall of 2000, we
added Noggin programming and educational resources to teachers.nick.com,
further expanding the site's curriculum offerings. |
