Lunchtime sports clinics – recruit kid players as ‘experts’ to help teach other kids in school how to play basketball/soccer/tennis or do gymnastics. Or, ask a local expert in martial arts, yoga or circus arts to teach students new ways to be more physically active. |
Plan a Saturday Worldwide Day of Play event as a school fundraiser and festival of play; recruit PTA members to make healthy goodies for a bake sale; provide 10-20 games for kids and families to play. |
Partner with other schools and organize a district-wide walk-a-thon or bike/skate-a-thon; use the event to raise money for PE funds for your schools. Make sure you have lots of water and cut fruit for participants. |
