Josh_Peck: Hey! What's up everyone!

MODERATOR: We're really lucky to have Nick's Kids Pick the President correspondent Josh Peck, here to chat with us and answer all your questions!

Josh_Peck:Hello! What's up everybody?

MODERATOR: Josh we have tons of questions for you!! Are you ready for them? :)

Josh_Peck: Uh huh! Let's get ready to rumble!!

MODERATOR: Before we get on to the political environment, ybu has a different question about your career :)

MODMSG ybu: Did you like acting in "Snow Day"?

Josh_Peck: It was awesome. We got to hang out a lot, have snowball fights, and we ordered pizza a lot!

nickyapper: Was that all real snow?

Josh_Peck: Most of it was real. Some of it was potato flakes and stuff like that. But we tried to make it as real as possible.

MODERATOR: juniper is excited for you!

MODMSG juniper: Is it exciting being one of the youngest correspondents there at the DNC?

Josh_Peck: It's awesome, juniper. It's a real privilege to be a correspondent and to talk to all of these awesome people...

Josh_Peck: Kids don't usually get a chance to be involved in politics...but I get to be, and it's a lot of fun!

Josh_Peck: Plus you get a lot of free stuff.

MODERATOR: draftsygirl has a 2-part question...one being sort of funny?

MODMSG draftsygrl: Josh, tell us do Al Gore's knees really bend? And who was the coolest delegate you've met so far?

Josh_Peck: If I got to shake his hand, I don't think I'd get a splinter or anything...

Josh_Peck: I got to meet one delegate who was all dressed up in his patriotic attire...

Josh_Peck: He had saved up stuff for 8 years to wear there. It was all red white and blue, with presidential buttons...

Josh_Peck: It was really cool!

MODERATOR: A question from the nick.com mailbag this week...

MODMSG nickmyst: How does it feel to see yourself on TV?

Josh_Peck: It's a little scary sometimes...

Josh_Peck: Sometimes you get embarrassed—you think you could've done that so much better.

Josh_Peck: But I like seeing myself on TV—it's really cool.

Josh_Peck: Except when I have a zit—that's really bad!

nickyapper: We love watching you on TV, Josh!!!!

MODERATOR: Since you're already building a fan club, katie has a question for you :)

MODMSG katie12345: How old are you?

Josh_Peck: I'm 13 years old.

Josh_Peck: Bordering on 60!

MODERATOR: I know it must be hard to get a complete feel for the convention, but juniper wants to know...

MODMSG juniper: Do you think that any of the politicians have a grasp on what's important to kids today?

Josh_Peck: I think that some of the politicians do have some sort of idea of what kids want today...

Josh_Peck: But the only way to know exactly what they want is to be a kid.

Josh_Peck: Not all politicians focus on that sort of stuff, but there are a few good politicians in the bunch...

Josh_Peck: who really help kids out...and that's all we need.

Josh_Peck: Some of the politicians are focused on school safety. School is supposed to be a fun and learning environment...

Josh_Peck: and the environment some of the politicians are focusing on. Kids worry about that as much as their parents do...

Josh_Peck: so some do a good job of focusing on that environment.

MODERATOR: Josh I have a question for you from me!! Would you consider a career in politics after being around it so much?

Josh_Peck: I don't think so. I don't think it's my forte.

Josh_Peck: I like acting a lot. I like doing it, so I don't know if I'd want to become a politician.

Josh_Peck: And it's so much responsibility!

nickyapper:JOSH PECK FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

MODERATOR: Speaking of acting...this next one is from coolkid...

MODMSG coolkid555: Josh, I would really like to know what are your favorite TV shows to watch? And when did you start to act?

Josh_Peck: Hey, what's up, coolkid!

Josh_Peck: I'm sort of a wrestling buff...so I like Smackdown.

Josh_Peck: I used to love to watch "Seinfeld"...and I really like "Friends," and every show on Nickelodeon!!

nickyapper: Of course you do!!

Josh_Peck: I used to love to act when I was a little kid. I told cheesy jokes. When I was 7 I got into theater and one thing led to another....

Josh_Peck: And here I am!

MODERATOR: draftsygirl is a big fan too and I think she's taking notes as you speak!

MODMSG draftsygrl: Josh, how do you come up with questions to ask? Your parents? Friends? Teachers? And do you get credit for being a school correspondent?

nickyapper: If you're just joining us, we're chatting with Nickelodeon's Kids Pick the President correspondent, Josh Peck!

nickyapper:You may remember him as Wayne from the Nick Movie "Snow Day."

Josh_Peck: Sometimes I'm prepped before about what subjects to base my questions on...

Josh_Peck: Sometimes I get questions from my family, what they want to know the answers to...

Josh_Peck: And I think of some of them on the spot!

Josh_Peck: And of course I get questions that are submitted on nick.com!

MODERATOR: You don't *have* to answer this, but forthgrade is wondering...

MODMSG forthgrade: Who are you going to vote for for president?

Josh_Peck: Well, I can't vote...but If I could, I'd tell you...a reporter is never allowed to tell!

Josh_Peck: Good thing I'm not running for President!

nickyapper: Oh right—that whole objectivity thing.

Josh_Peck: I was president of my sixth grade class, and one of my main concerns was getting all the candy machines to work!

MODERATOR: Adelie252 sent this question in through NICKZa (our alien who knows nothing about elections)...

MODMSG nickza: From Adelie252: Josh, I saw a news report about all the things they give away at conventions. What sort of free stuff have you gotten and which convention had the best stuff?

Josh_Peck: Adelie, at the Republican convention, I got a cool bag of stuff...

Josh_Peck: Calling cards, frisbees, Republican macaroni and cheese—where all the noodles were in the shape of elephants!

Josh_Peck: And I got a cool cup.

Josh_Peck: I got about the same things at the Democratic Convention...I also got a camera there.

Josh_Peck: They both gave away really cool stuff!

MODERATOR: Josh, as is typical with Nick Blabbers, they all think of food...so from bluebrd...

MODMSG bluebrd: Josh, what's your favorite food?

Josh_Peck: Oddly enough, my favorite food is sushi...

Josh_Peck: But I'm known to frequently call up Domino's and have a nice medium pizza!

Josh_Peck: And McDonald's is one of my five food groups!

MODERATOR: From the nick.com mailbag again this week...

MODMSG nickmare: Question from NICK.COM mailbag: Are there any other kids at the convention?

Josh_Peck: I know that some of the children there were some of the delegates' kids...

Josh_Peck: and some of the people there brought their kids...

Josh_Peck: but I didn't see any other kid correspondents.

Josh_Peck: And they wouldn't be as cool as me because I'm working for Nickelodeon!

Josh_Peck: I know the youngest delegate anywhere was at the Republican Convention.

Josh_Peck: She was 18.

MODERATOR: ajd9 has a question about Snow Day :)

MODMSG ajd9: What was your favorite line in the movie "Snow Day"?

Josh_Peck: "Please, I don't want to die with my pants down!!"

MODERATOR: samiamnum has an animal question for you...

MODMSG samiamnum2: Do you have any pets? What are they and what's their names? And what's your favorite animal? Or favorite bird?

Josh_Peck: Ok, samiamnum...I do have a pet. I have a dog...

Josh_Peck: and oddly enough he has the name of my favorite food—Sushi!

Josh_Peck: I really like all animals. But my favorite is my dog.

Josh_Peck: Also hamsters. I really like hamsters. But my mom won't let me get one.

Josh_Peck: My favorite bird is the Toucan. I just know that because he's on the cover of Fruit Loops.

MODERATOR: Ok I must admit I added the part about the bird...sowwy samiam lol

MODERATOR: chyna is hoping your answer is no to this...

MODMSG chyna35: Do you have a girlfriend?

Josh_Peck: Actually, no, I don't have a girlfriend...

MODMSG nickmare: A question from the mailbag at Nick.com: Is there anyone you haven't talked to yet that you'd like to interview?

Josh_Peck: I would have loved to interview some of the candidates for president, but unfortunatly I wasn't able to...

Josh_Peck: There's this whole policy with the Secret Service...you can't get close to them!

MODERATOR: draftsygirl was paying attention to your answers!

MODMSG draftsygrl: Josh, you said you like to watch Smackdown. Did you get to meet The Rock when you were at the Republican Convention?

Josh_Peck: No, and I would have loved to so much. Unfortunately I didn't get to...

Josh_Peck: But I really love The Rock—he's such an awesome wrestler.

MODMSG blnkgrl18: Why do you think that all the candidates say the young people are the most important when they are the ones who don't vote in the election?

nickyapper: If you're just joining us, we're chatting with Josh Peck, Nickelodeon's Kids Pick the President correspondent and "Wayne" from the Nick movie "Snow Day."

Josh_Peck: I'm not too sure about that...you might have to contact your local mayor or something!

Josh_Peck: But I think they're telling the people who DO vote that we're important...that we're the future...

Josh_Peck: so that tomorrow can be better for the kids of today!

MODERATOR: Josh are you ready for a tough question from bekster? She's thinking of heading your campaign :)

MODMSG bekster: If you were president, what would be your first agenda item?

Josh_Peck: Putting a McDonald's in the Oval Office!

Josh_Peck: I think that my first order of business would defintely be finding out what kids' concerns are...and filling what kids want.

Josh_Peck: And whatever came after that, we would deal with it. And if it didn't come, we wouldn't have to deal with it!

MODERATOR: Rabble wants to know about your preferences...

MODMSG Rabble: What issues do you personally find very important?

Josh_Peck: Most important to me is the environment.

Josh_Peck: The environment comes before anything else. If we don't have beautiful trees, trees to give us oxygen...

Josh_Peck: we can't do anything else. We can't do anything unless we have a good place to do it.

MODMSG angeleyes4: Hi Josh! What's your favorite color?

Josh_Peck: Well, angeleyes4, my favorite color is blue!

Josh_Peck: Because I like to go to the ocean, and that's what the color of the water is.

Josh_Peck: And my scooter's blue.

MODMSG coolkid555: Josh, if you had 1 wish, what would it be?

Josh_Peck: coolkid...a million more wishes!

MODERATOR: corrine has been giggling since you arrived!

MODMSG corrine: Have you always been this funny? Or did you recently pick it up?

Josh_Peck: I think I got if from my mom...and my uncle and cousin. My cousin Donny, he was always telling jokes and doing funny faces...

Josh_Peck: and I guess I just picked up on it.

Josh_Peck: And being funny and getting people to laugh is very gratifying.

nickyapper: Well you should be very "gratified" 'cause you're cracking us up!!!

MODMSG grapelila: If you had a close relative or friend who told you that they aren't going to vote, what would you say to them in order to change their mind about voting?

Josh_Peck: Well, grapelila...I think I would tell them that one person makes a difference.

Josh_Peck: And if every person thought it was no big deal, nobody would vote.

Josh_Peck: I would tell him that the president has a great responsibility...

Josh_Peck: and he should be able to fit your needs, what you want, and what you think would be best for the country.

Josh_Peck: Without people voting, we just wouldn't have a very good president.

MODMSG nickmyst: What's your next acting project?

Josh_Peck: Well, I'm doing "The Amanda Show" currently...

Josh_Peck: The new season starts in October, so hopefully you'll see me then.

Josh_Peck: I'm available...so if anyone knows any casting directors!

Josh_Peck: Just kidding!

Josh_Peck: But I would love to be in the Harry Potter movie!

MODERATOR: me too Josh!! I would play Hedwig!

MODERATOR: ashbug2008 is an avid Nick fan and wants to know...

MODMSG ashbug2008: What's your favorite show on Nick?

Josh_Peck: I like a lot of them. My favorite cartoon shows are "Rocket Power "and "Hey Arnold!"

Josh_Peck: I really liked the show "Salute Your Shorts."

Josh_Peck: But that's not on anymore.

Josh_Peck: I think my other favorite shows are "My Brother and Me" and "All That," and of course, "The Amanda Show"!

MODMSG dandance12: Hey Josh, who's your favorite singer?

nickyapper: We have less than 15 minutes left with Kid Correspondent and Roving Reporter Josh Peck!

Josh_Peck: dandance...I have to honestly say I'm an oldies lover.

Josh_Peck: I love Frank Sinatra.

Josh_Peck: And my favorite group is *NSYNC!

MODMSG nickmyst: Do you go to a regular school?

Josh_Peck: Well, when I'm shooting "The Amanda Show," I get tutored on the set for 3 hours a day.

Josh_Peck: When I'm not shooting, I go to regular school.

Josh_Peck: I'm hoping to get on the football team this year.

Josh_Peck: When you're at regular school, you get to go around and see your friends...

Josh_Peck: But when you're on the set, there's only a few of you...

Josh_Peck: so you get more attention. So I like them both!

MODERATOR: Josh, are you planning on having a Hillbilly Moment?

Josh_Peck: That would be awesome! That would be really cool!

Josh_Peck: The two characters are Lula Mae and Enos. So I'd think it would be really cool if they added a new character!

Josh_Peck: But it's really good the way it is...so whatever the writers want!

Josh_Peck: Hi blue180! My favorite character is Harry himself.

Josh_Peck: I was on "Double Dare 2000" and I got pretty messy there...

Josh_Peck: I think when I turn 18 I would be jumping at the chance to vote!

Josh_Peck: But I don't know how other 18-year-olds feel.

nickyapper: But they definitely should vote!!!

MODMSG nickmare: Question from nick.com: Has working on "Kids Pick the President" made you think YOU should run for president/public office???

Josh_Peck: I always sort of considered running for president...

Josh_Peck: I think a lot of kids have thought about being president...

Josh_Peck: having the Secret Service around all the time, being the most powerful person in America.

Josh_Peck: That would make you really want to be president.

Josh_Peck: But I think I'll stick with acting and comedy. That's what I really love to do.
