NICKBird: Hi Rob!! I feel so at home being around an animal! Our first question of the night comes from klief, one of your biggst fans!

klief: Do you like animals? If so,what's your favorite?

NICKBird: Of course you probably like birds best, right?

Rob Schneider: I like...I've always liked animals...now I love animals!

Rob Schneider: I love the chimps and orangutans...they were fun to work with. Everytime I saw them all they wanted to do was give me a big hug—sometimes too tight!

NICKBird: Chancebaby loves animals too!

chancebaby: What was it like to play an animal?

Rob Schneider: It was the most fun I've had as an actor...it was nice to try to figure out that it's more fun trying to play a guy trying to stop turning himself into a dog than playing a guy who does turn into a dog...and so forth...

Rob Schneider: And dolphins..and goats..and cats....

NICKBird: twist57 is working at being funny :)

Rob Schneider: I was a nervous little kid and I would choose weird words....

Rob Schneider: And other kids laughed at me and I would pretend that I REALLY meant it to be funny!

Rob Schneider: But I loved comedy as a child. I listened to a lot of comedy albums and comedies were my favorites. Laughing is the best!

Rob Schneider: Making your own movie is the best playground a big kid like me could have. You get to write jokes, work with animals, and your friends...and your new friends who ARE animals.

Rob Schneider: I miss it sometimes when i come up with a funny idea and I've got no place to try it out.

Rob Schneider: I used to come up with a joke idea Tuesday and find out if it was funny on Saturday. A movie takes a whole year—What's that all about?

Rob Schneider: I love being in a room with all my friends, trying to make each other laugh.

Rob Schneider: EEET's the BEST!

amygurl12: Did you have to get mentaly and physicly ready for the movie?

Rob Schneider: No, you can just take your friends and go see it...but if you want to get mentally and physically ready, you do it.

Rob Schneider: Run around the block...or play with your animals. That's your choice!

Rob Schneider: Part Two: seriously, I worked out for 5 months, spent a lot of time with these animals...now they're my friends.

jaks88: Did you have a hard time controlling the animals?

Rob Schneider: We shot so much film, it could have gone around the world, one and a half times!

NICKYapper: That is a LOT of film!

Rob Schneider: But surprisingly all the animals liked working on the movie.

Rob Schneider: I really believe they did, especially the smart ones, like the seal, chimp and orangutan. I'm not a big fan of the goat...the goat liked eating alfalfa.

Rob Schneider: What's that all about?

NICKBird: Nemorath wants background info on you :) and no we don't mean to turn around

Nemorath: Before you became an actor did you have any other job?

Rob Schneider: I had a bunch. You name it and I probably did it.

Rob Schneider: I didn't think it was possible for me to be an actor, since I didn't know anyone who was an actor. But I never gave up. I sold shoes, painted houses, worked in construction, I was a janitor, I sold MORE shoes...I was a busboy and I delivered flowers...

Rob Schneider: Acting is waaaaaaay better!

Rob Schneider: I can guess any woman's shoe size...true!

NICKYapper: WOW, wide variety!

Rob Schneider: No..

Rob Schneider: But I do remember in 5th grade, a lot of kids would laugh at almost anything I said...

NICKYapper: Yeah, fifth grade is a great audience :)

Rob Schneider: And I remember thinking "this is pretty good!"

Rob Schneider: And the teacher asked me to tell a joke and Mr. Freeman my teacher had me tell it...a good news/bad news joke...it got a big laugh.

Rob Schneider: This lady just gave birth to a baby...the doctors says I have good news and bad news...

Rob Schneider: The good news is your wife just gave birth to a nine pound baby eyeball!

Rob Schneider: The father asks "what's the bad news?"

Rob Schneider: The doctor says "it's blind!"

Rob Schneider: They got a big laugh out of that.

sydney3nj: What was it like being around Colleen for the movie? And tell her I wanted her to win survivor!

Rob Schneider: I think she DID win Survivor because she got to be in "The Animal."

Rob Schneider: She's a cutie, I've got a big crush on her. But I think she likes some other guy...she's really sweet and nice to everyone.

Rob Schneider: I'm all shy around her.

lizzie85: How many movies have you appeared in?

Rob Schneider: I think 17 or 18.

Rob Schneider: But the last two I wrote and I'm real proud of them.

NICKBird: Lilnygirl is staring at her feet and thinking hard.

lilnygirl: How do you go across the water on your feet? Like were there any strings?

Rob Schneider: I'm part dolphin...and I'm able to do it!

Rob Schneider: I saved a lot of money on special effects because I've been practicing the dolphin technique my whole life (yes, there were strings...lots of them!)

Rob Schneider: There were strings in places where I didn't know I had places!!

Rob Schneider: I worked out 3 hours a day so I wouldn't get hurt doing this movie and I could keep up with all the animals.

NICKYapper: How about the running so fast part? You sure are athletic!

Rob Schneider: I did a lot of running—my feet hurt.

Rob Schneider: But I'm not as fast as a cheetah...only in the movie.

GirRules01: What scene did you have the most fun shooting?

Spraragen: My favorite movie you were in was "Surf Ninjas."

Rob Schneider: Thanks you, spraragen..The Animal is way better!  June 1st!

GirRules01: What scene did you have the most fun shooting?

Rob Schneider: There were a lot of fun scenes.

Rob Schneider: I loved working with the chimpanzee...and I loved working with Colleen.

Rob Schneider: but my new favorite pal is Louie, the orangutan....we fought in the movie.  I'm glad he decided not to tear my arms off!!

Rob Schneider: I'm delightfully stranger...but this movie is a good excuse to bring out all the animals that are really inside me, except the goat.

kt lynn: What was your favorite movie to appear in?

Rob Schneider: I think "The Animal" is my fave. and I'm really excited that it's PG-13. Kids can go see it and take your grandmother and she won't run out screaming.

Rob Schneider: I also liked "Big Daddy"—playing the delivery guy. I love Adam Sandler.

Rob Schneider: He's my buddy.

NICKBird: From the mailbag: How did you meet Adam Sandler?

Rob Schneider: We were stand-up comedians many years ago and I thought he was very funny.

Rob Schneider: Then we were on Saturday Night Live and shared a dressing room.

Rob Schneider: Now we're great buddies. He makes me laugh hard—that's a good thing!

NICKBird: Smurfy6 brought some bugs for me to eat and got to thinking...

smurfy6: When did you get the acting bug?

Rob Schneider: When I was about 13, I would stay up late at night writing jokes. My parents thought I was crazy...

Rob Schneider: And we would go see funny movies.

Rob Schneider: When I started writing jokes, that was the most fun I had in my childhood. But I didn't know you could become an actor until I met one...then I thought, "well, maybe it is possible!"

Jobee1k: Do people get you confused with the guy in Jaws, Roy Scheider?

Rob Schneider: Only children in their 30's.

Rob Schneider: I love it when people tell me I was really good in "Sea Quest."

Rob Schneider: And when people compliment me on things I wasn't in. I just say "thank you."

Rob Schneider: Pistachio.

Rob Schneider: In a sugar cone...NEVER with sprinkles. That would be disgusting and would ruin an otherwise perfect ice cream!

Rob Schneider: I think I would be a writer, I love writing. I co-wrote "The Animal" and "Deuce Bigalow." I like writing stories and not knowing where they end up.

Rob Schneider: and it makes me happy when they end up someplace funny.

Rob Schneider: I'm also a pretty good shoe salesman.

Rob Schneider: Do what excites you and what you love. That's a good way to spend your life. You'll be happy.

alloysa: What's your favorite thing about acting?

Rob Schneider: I love acting because I get to play and pretend. I can pretend to be a police officer without actually pulling people over and giving them a ticket.

Rob Schneider: And I can pretend to be in the navy without actually going out to sea for 18 months.

Rob Schneider: And I can pretend to be an animal without actually having different animal parts inside me.
