Although it's taken her 17 years, J.K. Rowling has completed the seventh and final installment of the "Harry Potter" book series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." The Potter scribe said on February 1 that "Hallows" would hit shelves July 21, sadly bringing an end to the hit series that has earned a whopping $325 million so far.
After nearly two decades of shaping the lives of her characters, Rowling is having trouble saying goodbye to Harry and the Hogwarts gang. "I always knew that Harry's story would end with the seventh book," she told the press, "But saying goodbye has been just as hard as I always knew it would be." J.K. went on to say, however, that she feels "an incredible sense of achievement" now that the series is complete. "Deathly Hallows is my favorite, and that is the most wonderful way to finish the series," she said, adding that the only thing that kept her from "collapsing in a puddle of misery on the floor" once she finished was her love for the final installment.
You don't have to be a wizard to know there are millions of fans out there who will be equally sad to say goodbye to Harry and his pals!
