Play ball! Grab a bag of peanuts and head to the stadium, because Leon Thomas is going from smooth singing superstar to the baseball hall of fame! Okay...maybe he won't be inducted into the hall of fame any time soon. But he did throw the first pitch at the Mets game yesterday. And he made it all the way to home base! Go Le-on.
Leon took to the Mets home stadium, Citi Field, alongside SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer for "Nickelodeon Day"; a day to promote family fun and that good ol' fashion American pastime. Leon tweeted, I'm doing the first pitch at mets game today !!!! Wish me luck : )"
But before he arrived, he ran into one minor mishap. Leon dished to his twitizens, "So my driver just took me to Yankee stadium by accident.... #fail lol" Oops!
But don't worry guys, Leon got there in enough time to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. And then during the 7th inning stretch, he got up to lead the crowd in a special rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."
He tweeted, "Just finished singing take me out to the ball game !!!! Go mets !!!!"
And he did a pretty good job playing pitcher, too. He chirped, "Wasn't the best pitch of my life but at least I made it to the catcher !!! Thanx mets !!!!!"
So maybe he didn't knock one out of the park, but think he did a fantastic job at this major league debut. Leon, we think you deserve a mini wave in celebration. Ready...Set...Woo!
