Matt Bennett the Cat?

Funnyman Matt Bennett may have needed ventriloquist lessons before mastering the voice of Rex on Victorious, but he's actually a voice-over pro! He told PopStar! that before scoring his role as a performing arts vocalist, he used to sing a different toon...

Matt scored some of his very first gigs by voicing cartoons! "I did a lot of voice work when I first started acting," he said. "Like, a lot of commercials. I was a squirrel once. I was also a cat."

Matt as a cat? Sounds like a purrrr-fect match! But he's pleased as punch playing Robbie. Although, he wouldn't mind moonlighting as a Nick toon. "I actually really like voice-over work and I hope to do some cartoon for Nickelodeon sometime," Matt said.

So, it turns out, maybe Matt Bennett didn't need ventriloquist lessons, after all. He just needed to meet the right dummy. :)
