The holidays are full of family, friends, and of course, presents! But for Supah Ninjas star Ryan Potter, the most important part of this special season is giving back to those who need it most. So for his second year in a row, he's teamed up with the Toy Box of Hope to host a toy drive to benefit needy children. But not only did the event give tons of gifts to kids, it was also a huge party full of Nick celebs (Carlos Pena, Leon Thomas and Rachel Crow to name a few)! And we caught up with them all to get the scoop on the inspiring event.
We spotted Ryan at the start of the event, and he couldn't stop gushing about the turn out! "It's huge, it's awesome," he said. "I mean, Carlos Pena's taking photos with everybody, Rachel's here, oh my goodness. Everyone's here, it's nuts, it's way bigger than I thought it was going to be! It's blowin' up and I'm happy."
And why is this event so important to Ryan? Well, he dished, "Everyone should give back in one way or another, and this is my way of giving back. We're encouraging these kids to go to homeless shelters, and there's a lot of organizations...that do amazing work. And what we wanna do is provide bedsheets, jackets and toys to these organizations, so these kids are like, 'Wow, someone cares, there's hope.'"
Rachel Crow happily joined in Ryan's cause, and gave us the 411 on why she participated. "Giving back is important to me because a lot of people don't come from privilege," she told us. "Giving back is a really cool thing to do, to be able to help other people."
How to Rock stars Chris O'Neal and Lulu Antariksa were also super excited to help out at the drive. "We are so blessed in our lives to be able to be on Nickelodeon and be role models for other people," Lulu said. "And what better way to do it than to give back to the people who really need it?"
Chris added, "It's great because some people are not as fortunate as others, so when we have the opportunity to donate and just give someone a toy just to make them happy, it's a great day."
This celeb-packed charity gala was a complete success. So why not join the cause? Get out there and get giving, in the name of the holidays! The Nick stars would certainly approve.
