Hello, Danny Phantom fans! I'm finally back from my break (okay, so maybe I wasn't completely off the message boards. I've been reading some of the fan fictions that are up, and I must say that you guys are doing really good! I just couldn't stay away!) I thought to celebrate my return, I'm going to repost "The Life of Saralyn"! Enjoy!
CHAPTER 1: THE BEGINNING (part 1)
I sighed in disappointment as my sister, Carmen, and I looked up at a house across the street from where we stood. The house of my aunt Rebecca and uncle Carl. I loved my aunt and uncle, but they had a bit of an obsession. What's the obsession, you may ask? Two words: ghost hunting. Uncle Carl is ABSOLUTELY obsessed with ghosts. Aunt Rebecca used to be sort of neutral, but uncle Carl's obsession must've rubbed off on her. I groaned.
"Can't we stay at one of your friend?s house? Mom and dad will never know!" I persuaded Carmen.
"No way," Carmen said. "I know that you think that Aunt Becca and Uncle Carl are weird..."
"BUT THEY ARE!" I cried. "YOU THINK THAT TOO!"
"Calm down!" Carmen said, "I know that also, but mom and dad said that staying with our aunt and uncle will help us..." Then Carmen started air quoting. " 'bond' or 'find things in common' or 'get along with each other' or something." I groaned even more and returned my focus on the house.
Oh, sorry, I'm getting a little carried away with my complaining. Hi, my name is Saralyn, but my friends call me Sara. The only people that call me Saralyn are teachers and my parents when they're angry. I live in a town called Amity Park, and so do my aunt and uncle. The reason Carmen and I were staying at our aunt and uncle's house was because our parents are going on a cruise ship through the Bahamas. Carmen and I BEGGED them to take us with them, but they insisted we stay here.
Carmen and I looked at each other nervously. We slowly started walking across the street. All of a sudden, a boy zoomed down the streets, crashing into me. I hit the ground hard on my side.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" the boy said, helping me up.
"It's alright." I said. ?Just some internal bleeding, that?s all.?
The boy smiled. "I haven't seen you around before." He said. "I'm Danny Fenton."
"I'm Saralyn. You can call me Sara. This is my sister, Carmen." I said. "I've heard of your parents. Aren't they ghost hunters?" Danny nodded.
"So are our aunt and uncle." Carmen said.
"Cool." Danny said.
"DANNY!" a voice cried. We turned around. Two people, a Goth girl and a techno boy geek were running towards us.
"What is it, guys?" Danny asked.
"There's a g---!" the Goth girl said. She saw me and Carmen and stopped.
"Uhhh..." the geek said. He then whispered something in Danny's ear.
(What's at the park?) I thought.
Danny's eyes widened. "I got to go." he said, turning to me, "Nice meeting you. Come on, Tucker... Tucker?"
But Tucker wasn't paying attention to Danny. He was paying more attention to me.
"Hey, there. I'm Tucker Foley. That's T.F. as in too fine!" he said.
"Uhhh...?" I said. Then the girl came up and grabbed Tucker's ear.
"OW! OW! OW!" Tucker said. Then they ran off, with Tucker yelling to me. "CALL ME!" he cried.
I watched them until they were out of sight, Carmen and I bursting in laughter. We knocked on the door. Uncle Carl opened the door. He was a tall, rather chunky man with blonde hair and brown eyes that were always crinkled into a smile. He wore a checkered t-shirt and trousers.
"Carmen! Sara!" uncle Carl cried, giving both of us a big hug.
"Hi, uncle Carl." Carmen said. "Going golfing again?"
Uncle Carl nodded and smiled. "Auntie Becca is in the kitchen, making dinner." he said. "Go upstairs, 2nd and 3rd door on the left are your rooms." Carmen and I nodded and raced upstairs.
"Hey, that Danny guy is kind of cute, huh?" she said, hinting me.
?Geez, Carmen, get real.? I said. I let out a chuckle to myself as I began unpacking.

Thanks so much for reading The Life of Saralyn. Now I'm really excited to share this with you: my fan fiction series "The Mythical Heroes".
"The Mythical Heroes" contains all of the Danny Phantom fan fictions that I have, the first being The Life of Saralyn. I'm really excited because I've figured out a way to connect my three original fan fictions, The Life of Saralyn, Angels and Dragons, and I Wish You Were Here (an old story that I am considering reposting as well), together to hopefully make a really awesome series, starring Danny Fenton and all of his super awesome mystical friends that he meets along the way.
The second story coming up is Angels and Dragons, which I will begin posting on Monday. There will be a total of about 5 stories in "The Mythical Heroes" series and another story that is not a part of it.
The order of "The Mythical Heroes" goes like this:
1. The Life of Saralyn
2. Angels and Dragons
3. I Wish You Were Here
4. The Life of Saralyn 2: 16 and Ghostly
5. When Three Worlds Collide
(The story that is not part of the series is called A Fairy's Tale, which is about Sam.)
I don't want to reveal too much about things, but here is a summary about the next story, Angels and Dragons:
Angellica (Angie) Canton is a 15 year old girl who lives in the magical dimension, along with her twin brother, Eragon Canton, and her mom and dad. Her mother is half human with the power to see paranormal things that others can't see and her father is a powerful sorcerer. Angie is an angel and Eragon is half dragon. One day, Angie and Eragon are visited by their friend Jake Long, who requests to talk to Eragon about some desperate news. The twins' parents have been abducted, with a fear that the kidnapper might go after the twins as well. To keep themselves safe, Angie and Eragon must leave their home in the magical dimension and live with their grandparents in Amity Park. There, they befriend Danny Fenton and his friends. For a while, Angie and Eragon seem to forget all of the bad things that are happening in their lives, but no matter how hard they try, they can't seem to shake off the lurking doom that is always around the corner.
"GAH!!!" Vlad's voice screeched throughout the entire mansion. "You... you... YOU IMBECILE!"
"Master, I-I'm sorry..." Rudy stammered.
Vlad examined Rudy's battered armor that was singed and steaming.
"SORRY?!" Vlad cried. "Shall I recap what happened? YOU were the one who attacked her, which caused Clockwork to revive her, so YOU are the thing that's responsible for bringing those ghost brats together! Now they are probably a million times stronger!"
"But Master, Ember is also responsible..."
"I know that, but she is not my creation, is she?! But you are..."
"Please, Vlad, I can still---"
"No! You are too late, Rudy!" Vlad said, hovering his hand over a red button. "You have failed me for the last time! I am finished with you!"
Vlad punched the red button, and with a final cry of desperation, Rudy collapsed and crumbled into robot pieces. Vlad looked satisfied, yet at the same time annoyed.
(Obviously, this is but a mere obstacle in my plan.) Vlad thought to himself as he paced the floor. (All I have to do is find the perfect hunter that will surely get rid of the obnoxious ghost couple. Then, I will finally be able to take over the ghost zone AND Amity Park! Not to mention the whole world and stuff, but one step at a time.)
Vlad chuckled, an evil smirk spreading across his face.
Vlad pressed another button and a couple of minions came in and swept away the bits and pieces of Rudy, along with a teenage girl who was dressed in a black tank top and a black biker jacket with black skinny jeans and combat boots rode in on a high-tech board. Her head was covered by a racer helmet. She reached up and removed it, shaking her red, wavy hair that cascaded down like a waterfall to the middle of her back. She had fair skin and her golden eyes.
"You called, Vlad?" the girl said, resting her helmet on her hip.
"Yes, child." Vlad said. "I have a task for you..."
The girl smiled sinisterly, nodded, and bolted out of the room, leaving Vlad with a renewed smile on his face. He grasped his hands behind his back and walked over to the window of his study. He peered out and watched people walk and drive by before his eyes.
"Trust me when I say this, Danny and Lynn Phantom." Vlad muttered under his breath. "This was only the beginning. I was just testing your wimpy little powers. You've had your turn, and now it's mine. And trust me... It's about to get a whooooole lot worst."
TO BE CONTINUED...
At last, everything in life was in perfect alignment. Danny and I were finally together, Sam and Aaron were together, and Tucker... well, he's still Tucker. I told them to meet me behind my school because I had exciting news to tell.
"So, what's the big, exciting news that you wanted to tell us?" Sam asked.
"Okay, so you know my Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Carl?" I said.
They all nodded.
"Well, I talked to my parents..." I said. "and they said that I could stay with them in Amity Park!"
"WHAT?!" they all cried as their faces lit up with smiles.
?Yup! They said that I could stay until I graduate senior year! You know, as long as I visit them on holidays, school breaks, etcetera, etcetera, but I CAN STAY!?
We spent the whole time jumping up and down and hugging and laughing.
?This is so great.? Danny said. ?We can stay together.?
?Yeah?? I said. ?There?s just one thing??
?I?m going to need some help packing and carrying my stuff??
Danny rolled his eyes and pushed me away, but the smile on his face stayed.
I actually knew how it felt to be a complete ghost. In fact, I felt sorry for the apparitions doomed to forever roam the Ghost Zone. I sat in complete darkness. That is, until I saw Clockwork appear, and he reached out his hand to me, like he was calling my spirit. The next thing I knew, I woke up in Danny's arms in the pouring rain.
"...Danny?" I whispered.
"Sara!" Danny cried.
I could see the tears in his eyes, the guitar in my hand, and my ears were ringing. Danny helped me up and pulled me into a hug.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You were motionless," Danny said. "But Clockwork revived you."
There was a little pause.
"I can't believe you came all this way to find me. Thank you."
"Well, our group wasn't the same without you..."
"Danny, look, there's something that I---"
Danny took my face in his hands and kissed me.
And finally, that moment when everything turned into slow motion. Faint music playing in the background from somewhere in the school, the rain pouring down, and everything was perfect. Danny pulled away and my body felt numb.
"Well, that was a really nice way of telling me to shut up." I said, breathless.
Danny smiled. "I love you too, Saralyn."
If a heart could explode from happiness, it would have happened to me at that very second. I looked down at the ground and smiled.
(No, no, no... this can't be happening!) I thought. (THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!)
I held Saralyn gingerly in my arms. Not even the rain could mask my tears.
(There's got to be something, ANYTHING that can bring her back.)
Then a bright light flashed in front of me. I covered my eyes and when I uncovered my eyes, I saw Clockwork floating there.
"Clockwork!" I cried. "Thank goodness..."
"I've come to take Saralyn." he said.
"Her time is up. I have come to take her to the Ghost Zone."
"No... no, you can't!" I pleaded. "You're the master of time! You have to bring her back to life!"
"Are you a fool?" Clockwork's appearance changed to a child. "I've never used my powers to bring someone back from the dead!"
"You have to!"
Clockwork looked at me discouragingly as he turned to an old man.
"Please... I love her..."
Clockwork's gaze softened.
"Yes..." he said. ?I can see that your love for each other is strong. Unbreakable...?
There was a long pause, as if he was thinking of what to do. Clockwork held out his arm and his staff appeared in his hand.
"Stand back." he said forcefully when his appearance changed to a young man.
I laid Sara down and backed away to the wall. Clockwork then did some weird ritual that I've never seen before. He moved around Sara, twirling his staff around as he recited words that I didn't understand. When he was finished, he touched Saralyn with the staff.
"Did... did it work?" I asked.
Clockwork just replied with a faint smile and he vanished. The silence that came after was deafening. But finally, I saw her eyelids flutter open.
"...Danny?" Sara whispered.
I sighed for probably about the millionth time. I let my mind wander and I found myself sitting at the top of the hill with Danny.
"So, what would happen if we ever got separated in a crisis?" I asked.
"What do you mean? Danny said.
"Like, what if I'm alone, you're not there, and I'm fighting ghosts, but I'm rendered powerless?" I explained. "What do I do?"
"Well, you could whistle for me to come."
"Since when did you turn into a dog?"
Danny rolled his eyes while I laughed at my own joke.
"Well, should that ever happen, you can consider it. I promise, I'll come running."
I smiled and turned my head away to avoid him seeing my blushing face.
My daydream was interupted by footsteps.
(Oh, great.) I thought. (What now??)
I turned invisible again and waited. However, the footsteps had stopped. I reappeared.
"What's with everyone running by?" I said.
"Maybe it's because they're scared." a voice said.
I turned around and gasped.
"R...Rudy?!" I gulped.
"Surpriiiise..." Rudy said.
"W...what are you doing here?"
"Uh, hello? Haven't we been over this a couple times before?"
"Well, I don't care." I growled. "I can take you."
"Oh, child." Rudy smirked. "Whoever said I was alone?"
All of a sudden, I heard a loud screeching sound behind me. I covered my ears and whirled around.
"Ember?!" I gasped.
"That's right, baby doll!" Ember smiled, strumming her guitar. "I'm back and rearing for revenge!"
"Well, what did I ever do to you?" I questioned. "I've never even fought you before."
"Well, your dipstick of a boyfriend, Danny Phantom, has sent me back to the ghost zone plenty of times, so I thought I'd take my anger out on you."
The sound of Danny's name sent a chill up my spine.
"I-I can still take you both!"
"Not so fast."
Rudy took out something that looked like a taser and pressed a button. Two suction thingies shot out and attached to my arm, sending a large electric shock pass through my body. I cried out in pain and fell to my hands and knees.
"What... what was that??" I cried.
"This mechanism was designed to take away ghost powers." Rudy said. "Now you're powerless."
I gulped and took a fighting stance.
"Get ready, kids!" Ember said, setting the dial on her guitar. "It's time to rock and roll!"
She jammed the strings and a fist zoomed towards me. I took it hard and fell back. It took a great amount of strength for me to get back on my feet.
"Nice guitar." Rudy said. "Can I try it?"
"Sure thing." Ember said.
I took my chance. As Ember handed her guitar over to Rudy, I took a deep breath and lunged towards Ember. In surprise, she dropped the guitar. I dove, caught it, and rolled to the ground.
"Don't just stand there!" Rudy cried at Ember. "Get the guitar back!"
"Oh, you did NOT just yell at me!" Ember snapped. "NOBODY yells at me like that!"
Rudy lunged towards me and I ducked. Taking a breath so deep and large that my lungs hurt, I put my fingers to my lips and sent forth a sharp and loud whistle. Ember and Rudy covered their ears, confused. I stopped, feeling myself get lightheaded. I took another deep breath and repeated another shrill whistle. I tried again the third time, but as my fingers came up to my lips, I was knocked back by a ghost ray.
I felt so bad for Saralyn when I saw her run out of the gym, crying like that. That was more despair than even I could handle. I hoped that Danny would find her as I watched him sneak his way out of the room.
"From what all has happened, I think those two deserve to be together." Aaron stood beside me.
"If this is was a movie, isn't this usually the part where secrets are revealed, love is announced, and after that, the happy ending credits roll in?" I asked.
Aaron kicked his foot on the ground.
"There's something that I need to tell you."
(As if on cue.) I laughed inside my head.
"I've kind of been... holding something back."
"Well... I, uh..."
I couldn't help but smile when he blushed.
We made it into the gym at Lincoln High and we managed to blend ourselves into the crowds of kids without being detected by Saralyn.
"Okay, guys." Tucker said. "What do we do now??"
"I... don't know." Aaron said.
"Are you telling me that we DIDN'T make a plan of what to do after we got in?!" Sam cried.
"Don't blame me!"
"GUYS!" I cried. "Settle down! Geez, you're sounding like an old married couple!"
Sam and Aaron glared at each other.
"Danny, look!" Tucker pointed. "It's Sara!"
He was right. It was Saralyn. She entered through the door with another girl, probably a friend. A guy approached them in a goofy tux then left.
(She looks so beautiful.)
A boy walked up to Saralyn. I used my super ghost hearing to listen to the conversation.
"...So, would you care to dance?" the guy asked.
"ME? Dance with YOU?!" Saralyn laughed.
"Of course she wants to!" Sara's friend butted in.
When they backed away to talk, I got an idea.
"I'll be right back." I whispered to the others. "I have a different plan!"
I turned invisible and took over the guy's body. A few seconds later, Sara came back.
"Yes, I'd LOVE to dance with you." Sara said through gritted teeth.
(Good, she didn't notice anything.)
I took her hand and lead her to the dance floor. I didn't know what to do, so I kind of panicked.
"I'm having a fun time." I said.
"Yeah... me too." Saralyn monotonously said.
I panicked again, so I leaned in to kiss her (I didn't know what else to do! I'M JUST AN AWKWARD TEENAGE BOY!).
"NO!" Saralyn cried as she shoved me backwards. I flew out of the boy right as he landed in a bowl of punch. She sure is strong.
Everything was a blur after, but all I saw was Sara burst into tears and run out of the gym.
The boy I overtook was absolutely confused and freaking out. I followed Sara. I found her collapsed onto her knees on a balcony crying.
"Oh, Danny," she sobbed. "I wish you were here."
For a minute there, I almost started crying. I fought the urge to run over there and comfort her.
I was so frustrated, thinking of what I was going to do next...
