Im reposting my story. I had it deleted myself. There was no problem with the mods or anything. Its just, I looked through it, and it had a ton of grammar mistakes, and I didnt think that was the BIGGEST deal in the world, but then, my friend Bookie pointed out that even the title was screwed up. I drew the line there. So, I tweaked my grammar, a few parts may be a BIT different, so keep your eyes pealed.
Chapter one.
~Tempras POV. ~
I closed my eyes and braced myself for what was coming. I felt a sharp pain, and I was sent flying backwards. Full throttle.
He looked down on me with his cold snake eyes, I saw no regret for what he had just done to me. I forced myself up. I wasnt letting him get away with this.
He grabbed me by the shoulders, then slammed me to the ground, and then he pinned me to the ground.
Why dont you just stay down like the weakling you are, Tempra? He demanded. I kicked him hard in the shoulder, but he didnt budge, he didnt even flinch. I wanted to let all my anger out, I wanted to throw all the fire I had at him.
But I couldnt. My chi was blocked.
Let me go! I shouted at him.
Why should I? He said. You are the darkness, I am the light. Doesnt the light always devour the dark?
Let. Me. Go. I said. He laughed. No. He said.
I was in pain, my chi was blocked, who knows what he had done to Kai...
What have you done to her? I demended.
Only what she deserved. He told me.
And youre about to get what you deserve, Tempra. He said.
He lifted his fist in a bending position. I looked up. Over us, was a cliff.
What were cliffs made of? Earth.
Dont do this. I said to him. He grinned an evil grin.
Whos gonna stop me? He asked. He bended the earth down, and stepped away. I was in too much pain to escape. It was the end.
I closed my eyes, getting ready for death to take me away to the sprit world.
What the heck are you doing?!
I heard him shout. I felt him land next to me. In a spit seconds time, the same someone who had just thrown him down, grabbed my feet and pulled me out of the way.
I heard the rocks hit the ground. HARD.
I knew he was gone.
And I was sticking around.

I never knew that my life would take so many turns, I never knew that destiny would lead me to this.
This is not the end of my fateful tale. Where we are now is pretty dang close, but where Im about to take you is far from it.
I know you must be dying to know how it ends, but what would it mean to you if you didnt know it from the beginning?
Chapter forty
Kai?s POV
?Tempra, do you have anything to say before your execution?? King Bumi asked.
?Yes. I?m doing this because of the unjust law against fire-benders, I had a friend who tried to help me, and because she helped a fire-bender, she was sentenced to be destroyed, but I took her place, I am paying for being a fire-bender, and for one friend, if she is in the crowd, never let anyone forget what was caused, by one unjust law.? Tempra said, looking out at me. He had a starved, gaunt look to him, his once strong, muscular form was now bony and thin, covered in scars, bruises, and burns. His hair was messy but I could still tell it was him.
?Tempra! Run, please!? I whispered, but I wanted to yell it so he could hear, but I didn?t. I saw him willingly get put in the stock, the executioner raise the axe, then, just as it was slamming down, Kustos earth-bent the ground beneath him, he dropped the axe, Kustos grabbed my hand, and ran up quickly and broke the lock on the stock, he grabbed Tempra?s wrist, and he ran. We followed. Once we were long gone, we slowed down.
?We can rest up ahead. Theres a small area of forest just past that cliff.? Kustos said over his shoulder, we were moving at a more manageable pace. Once we reached the cliff we slid down the rock walls. We walked into the forest. We found a small clearing. Kustos sat down, then Tempra, then after looking around, I did too. ?All right, well, I think we should go to one of the Air Temples, they?re abandoned after all.? Kustos suggested.
?Okay.? I said.
?Okay.? Tempra agreed. I felt sorry for Tempra, he had suffered so much, and he was still in trouble.
?One of us needs to guard, who shall it be?? Kustos questioned.
?I will.? I offered, I knew that they needed to rest, I could take guard. Tempra struggled to find a comfy position with all his injuries. Once he did, he fell asleep fast. Kustos had fallen asleep as soon as he knew he didn?t have to guard. I was pretty tired but I stayed awake and alert. Nothing came up, Kustos took my place so I could rest a little, and I slept hard. The next day we kept going, we moved slowly so Tempra could keep up. A few times I would fall back to match Tempra?s pace and help him out a little. We made it to a town, we kept going, we wouldn?t stop till we were out of the Earth Nation, and the Fire Nation. We made it to the border between Earth and Fire Nation land, we crossed. Now we had to make it through Fire Nation land, then we would be at the Northern Water Tribe. Soon our journey was over, we had made it to the water tribe and settled in. Better yet, me and Tempra were engaged!

Chapter thirty nine
Kai?s POV
The guards escorted me home.They knocked on the door.
?Hello?? Kustos said, his jaw dropped when he saw me.
?Sir, is this your sister?? One of the guards asked.
?Yes sir, it is.? He responded. The guard shoved me roughly through the door inside.
?Kai, what happened?? Kustos asked once the door was shut.
?Some guards showed up when we were leaving that town, they brought us back here. Tempra took double punishment to let me come home. We have to rescue him.? I cried.
?Kai, this is what he wanted. I?m sorry but I can?t risk you getting in more trouble. I wish we could help, but we just can?t.? Kustos said, he looked sad as well. I hugged him and cried. He took me back to my room. I crawled under the covers on my bed, I shut my eyes and tried to sleep. Sleep took me to a world of darkness, nothingness. I woke up the next day to the smell of breakfast cooking.
Tempra?s POV
Early the next morning one of the guards got me from my cell. They took my down the hall to a large chamber. I knew this was going to be hard. They took me over to one device, it had a flint and steel, which when rubbed together produce a spark. They locked my hands and feet in fireproof chains, One guard struck the flint and steel together, it sent a spark into my side. I bit back a yelp, they did it again and again on one spot on my side. Each time it hurt more, until after awhile, it just went numb. Then they went to the other side. After awhile it went numb too. After that, they had a contraption with rock spikes, they could extend them and retract them at will with their bending. The day was torturous, and they were also starving me. King Bumi had serious punishment for fire-benders, and for traitors, he knew they could be a huge problem. I didn?t get food, just a cup of water. It felt good on my burning throat. I laid down on the bed. My whole body hurt, but each time I shut my eyes, I pictured Kai, her bright black eyes, her long brown hair, and how she always carried that knife, I imagined her, standing there, a pained tortured look in her eyes, the knife being used as a torture device. When I turned in my sleep i was awakened by a jolt of pain. I finally found a way to keep myself from turning, I used the bed covers to tie myself to the bed, I couldn?t turn if I wanted to. The next day was worse. It went on for about three days. No food, little water, and pain. I had lost the strong layer of muscle, i had lost practically all previous appearance, besides the green eyes, and the fact that my black hair looked the same. I was scrawny, scarred, and bruised. The guard took me out of my cell, but they went towards the out door. They took me to the town plaza, they dragged me on the platform and called the town?s people to the plaza. After the usual introduction of why they were called here, and what I had done, the executioner walked over, axe in had. I looked out into the crowd and saw Kai, her big bright black eyes were tearful, her brown hair messy like she hadn?t bothered to brush it, Kustos was standing by her, holding her hand tight. Kai?s lower lip quivered, she had tears running down her cheeks.
Chapter thirty eight
Kai?s POV
Life was supposed to be perfect, we were supposed to be happy from now on, it wasn?t fair! I followed the guards, Tempra next to me. I knew that King Bumi would put us to death. He would finish what Drakon started. I looked at the ground, I knew that me and Tempra were doomed to a life of suffering, then after the guard said that Tempra might be able to take my place, I knew it would be bad. I knew he would be willing to take torture, to save me. I didn?t protest, but I never said anything, I was thinking, of a way out of this. We finally reached Omashu, my previous injuries were sore. We walked to the royal palace, they threw us in the throne room, to confront King Bumi.
?So, you harbored a fire-bender, tried to lead him from the city, and then you killed one of my guards. Well, you?re in trouble missy.? King Bumi said.
?Sir, if it wouldn?t be too much to ask, I have a question. Could I take Kai?s place, you can double the punishment, but let her go, please.? Tempra begged, the sorrow and sincerity in his eyes told me he was prepared to go through any amount of torture, punishment, or even death for me. Tempra licked his lips nervously and gulped.
?Maybe, let me think about it.? King Bumi said, the guards jerked us up by the arms and led us to the prison. The threw us both in the same cell. I snuggled close to Tempra.
?You don?t have to do this for me, Tempra. I don?t want to lose you, know that you?re suffering to give me a better life.? I told him, I knew he would do it, but I knew I couldn?t live with myself if I didn?t try to stop him.
?I don?t want you to die, Kai, you?re the only thing in the world that matters to me. I don?t want you to suffer, or die, even if I will.? He said. I knew he was serious. Tears streaked down my cheeks, I kissed Tempra, he kissed me back. The guard came back, they took Tempra from the cell and to the throne room again. I was left alone in the cell. It was cold without someone with you.
Tempra?s POV
?Are you sure you wish to take double punishment for your friend Kai. Her punishment is much more harsh than yours, it will be double that punishment.? King Bumi warned.
?I?m sure, sir. I would take it twenty time for Kai.? I said. King Bumi smiled his sideways grin.
?Then that it will be, she will be free to go, and even live here again, in peace. But you will face torture, and execution.? King Bumi said. I was taken back to the cell. Kai was taken to the throne room, no cuffs. I watched as she was taken. I would never see her again and I knew it. I knew that I had made the right decision though. Kai had tearful eyes, she mouthed ?Goodbye Tempra, I will never forget you.? And then she was out of sight. I laid on the small bed in the cell. I knew I would have to endure the most pain I have ever suffered, but I will just think, do it for Kai, and then I would be able take it a little better. I let myself drift into an uneasy sleep. I tossed and turned, my nightmares full of Hydra, Drakon, and when Kai almost died. They were enough torture, but it would be the least of it.
Chapter thirty seven
Tempra?s POV
Kai?s brown hair was messy, her black eyes stressed.
?I thought you were gone.? She said, her voice shaky with relief.
?I thought you were going to be destroyed, oh, and Drakon is gone. But I can?t believe you?re alive!? I said, I knew that we couldn?t go back to Omashu, I knew we couldn?t go somewhere Fire Nation either, we had to find somewhere far from both. Kai seemed to read my mind.
?We could go to one of the abandoned Air Temples.? She suggested.
?I think thats a great plan.? I said, I knew that it was one of the only places we could go. ?Or the one of the Water Tribes.? I said.
?I can go home, but you two can?t.? Kustos said. ?And I would prefer going home than one of those places.? He said, I knew he just wanted to be there when their dad got home.
?Okay.? Kai said.
?I?m leaving once you two are okay.? He said, it didn?t seem to phase Kai.
?Okay.? She replied, the next day we were discharged from the hospital, thats where we parted with Kustos.
?Bye Kai, I hope you?re happier with your new life.? Kustos said, kissing his little sister on the head.
?Bye, bro, stay out of trouble. I?ll miss you, I hope you enjoy back home.? Kai said, hugging him. We left, in the opposite direction.
?Kai, we have to stay far away from Omashu, where do you want to head first?? I questioned.
?Tempra, turn around.? Kai said, her voice trembling fearfully. I turned, a group of Omashu guards were standing there, spears pointed at us. They handcuffed us, they chi-blocked me.
?You?ll both have to face King Bumi, he?ll be especially angry with you, non-bender.? One of the guards said, roughly jostling Kai with the handle of the spear.
?Leave her alone!? I said angrily. Kai looked scared, terrified.
?Let her go, she only destroyed that guard to save my life. I started this whole thing.? I begged.
?We?ll talk to the king about it.? A guard said grumpily.
