Do you like Carly or Freddie?
Dating or not??
Do you like Sam or Freddie?
Dating or not?
Do you all like the fact that iCarly ended?? I don't (The only thing I do is that I can focus on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!!)
@NateJenn, I found 2 more remaining Creddiers! 2 of my friends at school find Creddie an awesome and adorable couple. I disagree, But they just don't know why I like Seddie. I try to explain, but they just don't agree. They don't go on the message boards, But if they did, they would support Creddie.
@CatFan5000, Oh hey welcome!! :D.. Seddie fan as well? *Confetti* Go team Seddie!
@NateJenn, I understand. It's just that I seriously typed up (we were texting and I randomly brought up the idea of Seddie) an entire rant about Creddie being fake and Seddie being real. So... yeah. Anyway, I- Uhhh... What the... There's an ad that says, "Hey Kids! This is advertising!" I'm like, "Ok... ARE WE NOT ALLOWED TO ALREADY KNOW THAT I"M THIRTEEN FOR PETE'S SAKE AHHHHH!!!" ...Ok. I'm good. And I forget what else I was going to say...
(But seriously... That ad just wants to state the obvious, doesn't it?)
" [...] But even stating facts from the show, I still couldn't change her mind about Creddie. (She can be stubborn though, anyway.) [...]"
Relationship preferences tend to be more emotional than logical. A few fans felt that Carly's sweet nature was a better match with Freddie than Sam and her high-energy, impulsive approach to life. Fine for them, I guess, but the series never promoted that path.
I myself have always liked the dissimilar romantic pairing, because I enjoy watching how they learn from each other, how they adapt and become more like each other over time. This sort of story is more vibrant and dynamic to me: we see real change, real emotional growth in both the guy and the girl... Just as we saw in Freddie and Sam.
Kids who prefer Creddie almost always think that Sam & Freddie are too different. They might have a point, if the differences were too much. But at their age, those differences are minor.
@NateJenn, My best friend is actually one of those last Creddie shippers. I told her that Sam and Freddie had an actual relationship, and that I could see Carly and Freddie as nothing more than brother and sister. But even stating facts from the show, I still couldn't change her mind about Creddie. (She can be stubborn though, anyway.) My sister even used to be a Creddie shipper until she watched the Seddie episodes! Then again, she is only eight as of right now... Anyway, I feel like as far as iCarly goes, I'm the only Seddie shipper I know.
I also still ship Bat, something I've shipped for quite a while. I lost hope in this couple a bit as soon as Beck got back together with Jade, but soon returned to the ship. I also ship Cabbie and Bade, though as far as Victorious couples go. I don't know which ships to leave... But I do know that one Victorious couple I never shipped was Bori. I knew this couple wouldn't last very long, either.
Yeah, @catfan5000, I love to talk about Seddie, too.
It's tough being so committed to a fictional couple. We have so little control over what Sam & Freddie do.... although by our enthusiasm and numbers, we can have some influence on what Nickelodeon and the producers do.
Eventually, though, both you and I know that the day will come when we won't see anything new about Sam & Freddie from Dan Schneider. He owns the characters, so when he moves on, we will only have our memories and fan fiction.
So, in the meantime, enjoy 'em. Be as enthusiastic as you can. Get your friends fired up! If you have the DVDs, maybe you can parties showing how the romance grew.
Let's build interest in the upcoming episode, whenever it may air.
we FINALLY see one of the last remaining Creddie fans post in support. @mesnow writes:
" [...]The[y] kissed before she left! That's true love! "
I'm glad you found something you think is favorable to Creddie. More power to you. I disagree, of course, but I'm glad you found something.
Yet, in that same last episode, I found support for Seddie, my favorite couple.
First, it's clear that both Sam AND Freddie have been thinking of each other, considering the possibility of getting back together. That stammering phone conversation between Sam and her ex-boyfriend pointed that out. When the subject came up, both knew right away what was being discussed.
Because each still feels vulnerable about how much they care, neither wanted to make the first move. But getting back together was clearly on their minds.
Second, the so-called romantic Creddie kiss did not go anywhere. Right after Carly kissed Freddie, she spun on her heels and fled the country.
Gosh, I just noticed something about this topic...
The original poster, @leofan01, is a Creddie supporter, and apparently hoped to get some discussion going with both Seddie and Creddie fans.
Nice idea, but poor @leofan01 would need some responses from the few remaining Creddie fans to get a balanced discussion. If you read the thread, all of us posting so far have been strong Seddie supporters, except for @leofan.
I can't tell if this is because Creddie fans are now all convinced the Seddie was the only true romantic couple on iCarly, or because Creddie fans don't want to discuss things with me and other Seddie fans.
Or maybe there are so few Creddie fans left, that none of them are online for long periods of time. Maybe weeks could go by without having any Creddie fans log on to the message board.
Whatever the reason, I wish I could discuss the romantic aspects of the series with Creddie fans. They didn't agree with me, but that was the fun part!
@mickeyk14 posted something shrewd. This part of the post explains fairly clearly why Sam behaved the way she did to Freddie:
" ... like in iKiss, Sam wouldn't just let anyone kiss her, we all know how Sam is, in one of the episodes she stole a Basket ball from a boy cuz she thought he was cute.
when Sam likes a guys she doesn't know how to act so she's mean to them.
that's just how she is."
that IS just how she is... In those early years Sam had no experience flirting with a guy, or "acting cute" to get his attention. So, she did it the only way she knew...
She teased, argued, and bickered. Y'know what? Freddie paid attention to her, didn't he?
"Creddie should be the winner!!!!!!!
Carly is my favorite and I like how Freddie is with Carly!!!!!
Well, my friend, since you asked if anyone agreed or disagreed...
I agree that Carly is YOUR favorite. I agree that YOU like how Freddie is "with Carly."
But here I have to ask... how exactly IS Freddie "with Carly?" They share very little screen time alone. Their relationship remained much the same throughout the entire series. Carly kept rebuffing Freddie. She kept looking for cute guys who weren't Freddie.
Okay, you probably like that Carly isn't as abrasive as Sam, and that Carly is sweet. I get it. Carly seems, at first, to have a temperament similar to Freddie.
But why didn't the series explore that? Your opinion is that Creddie is the better couple. Fine, okay. But it is a fact that the series didn't treat it that way: that's why almost one half (45%!) of all the episodes Have Seddie relationship moments.
2. there wasn't even a "Creddie" even if "Creddie" fans like it or not.
the only thing i ever seen "Creddie" was the kiss on iGoodbye, and you could tell it didn't even mean anything. there was no fiction between them...
But Seddie was something real and everyone could tell that it was,
Freddie and Sam were in love and still are.
like in iKiss, Sam wouldn't just let anyone kiss her,
we all know how Sam is, in one of the episodes she stole a Basket ball from a boy cuz she thought he was cute.
when Sam likes a guys she doesn't know how to act so she's mean to them.
that's just how she is.
When you examine the series, Seddie was the only couple that was truly explored. Creddie was hinted at, and we saw it on screen for less than a full episode; but mostly it existed only in the imaginations of a few Creddie fans.
Seddie was the relationship the series really centered on: with 96 episodes stretching from iPilot to iGoodbye, 43 episodes have significant Seddie interaction!
By significant, I'm NOT talking about a look one gave the other, or how close they stand together, or that they are wearing Seddie colors. No, significant interaction refers to actions and/or dialog that advance their relationship, changing it somehow or teaching them about each other.
43 out of 96. That's 45 percent! Their relationship evolved the most, from wary antagonism to admissions of love.
Carly & Freddie's relationship remained unchanged from beginning to the end; that's why they got so few eps.
