I'll Be Home For Kidsmas (a POM story) *Reposted*

Date: 02/15/13 12:39 AM
From: Yysic01

First off, I am EXTREMELY sorry I was gone long enough for this to get deleted. In mid-January, I got horribly sick and I'm now just finishing up what I missed. I will gladly repost this so you can read to the end (hopefully there will be no more distractions).

The story so far:
It's Christmas Eve and the penguins are decorating the zoo for Kidsmas. They are about to start decorating their habitat when Skipper and Kowalski watch an important news bulletin about something they need to fix (which they never discuss) and decide to do so before Kidsmas. On their way back, they run into a huge blizzard that will not clear up by Christmas. They decide to continue anyway for Private. Meanwhile, a devastated Private spends Christmas with the lemurs, which eventually goes horribly wrong.
Now Kowalski has lost the map in a large gust of wind as well as Skipper. Will they ever make it home? Stay tuned!

Part 8:
"It's okay," Skipper calmed him down, "Let's just get off of here before we slip again."
"Can we go inside?" Kowalski asked, "It's so warm in there."
"It sounds tempting, but we can't have anything else stall us."
"Ever heard of a detour?"
Skipper dragged Kowalski to the water spout. "No!" Kowalski tried to break free, "I don't wanna go that way! I wanna go inside!"
"Life isn't fair, Kowalski!" Skipper grunted as he tumbled backwards into the water spout.
He slid down and landed facedown in the snow. Before he could stand up, Kowalski slid out and landed on top of him. "That was surprisingly amusing," Kowalski said, still on top of Skipper.
"Get off me!" Skipper ordered.
Part 9 coming soon.

Part 7:
Skipper pulled him over the edge and onto the roof. They quickly crawled to the center of the building. Skipper held his chest as he tried to catch his breath. "You...okay...Kowalski?" he could only say one word at a time.
Kowalski laid flat on the rooftop. "I'm glad to feel solid concrete."
"What were you doing?"
"Oh! You see, I found the map! I was-"
He looked at his flippers and saw that the map was gone. "Aw, man! Not again!"
Part 8 coming soon.

Part 6:
"NO!" Kowalski screamed, "Where'd you go?"
"The wind and snow blew at me in all directions," Skipper explained, "I got confused and lost you. I had no idea where I was going, but I continued anyway. I knew I was going the right way when I heard you scream."
Kowalski looked embarrassed. "Did you take the elevator?"
"Nope. Climbed up the water spout."
Skipper slipped himself and almost fell off the edge, but he was able to stop before he did. The slipping completely caught him off guard, and he panted nervously. "Pull me up," Kowalski ordered, "before anything else happens!"
Part 7 coming soon.

Part 5:
However, he didn't fall too far before he stopped. He slowly opened his eyes. All he saw was the side of the building. He glanced around the perimeter and felt that something, or someone, was grabbing his flipper. His eyes widened, and he froze when a familiar voice spoke to him. He quickly looked up.
"Having fun down there, Kowalski?" It was Skipper!

Part 4 part 3:
He was interrupted when he slipped even further. He grunted as he tried to keep the last bit of his flipper clutched to the edge of the building. He let out a soft whimper when he realized that it wasn't working. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he felt the rest of his flipper slip. It felt like forever before he started falling. His thoughts were drowned out by his screams.
Part 5 coming soon.

Part 4 part 2:
He held the map in his mouth and tried to get his other flipper on the ledge. This was difficult since the edge, as well as the surrounding area, was completely covered in ice. He realized that every time he moved, he would slip. He took the map out of his mouth and stayed as still as possible. He was shaking not only because he was cold, but also because he was afraid that he was going to fall. His anxiety grew when he started to slip again. He couldn't help but scream.
"Is this the end?" Kowalski's voice was raspy and shaky, "Done in by the natural forces of the atmosphere? Curse you mother nature!"

Part 4:
Suddenly, he heard a faint snap from under him. "What was that?" he started to panic.
He heard a slightly louder one. He looked down. "Oh, golly."
There was a loud snap, and the entire antenna fell sideways off of the building. Kowalski screamed and quickly grabbed the edge of the building. He dangled on its side with the map in one flipper and the other one focused on holding onto the ledge. He could not see the ground, but he could imagine a long fall as he watched the antenna plummet to the ground.
"Well, those people won't be getting any cable," he shook his head, "I feel sorry for them."

Part 3:
On top of a TV antenna, wrapped around one of the bars, was the map. Kowalski carefully made his way over to the pole. It shook as he started climbing it. "This may break at any moment. Hopefully, this will be quick."
The metal pole was slippery. He couldn't get a steady grip on it, but he proceeded with his goal. He was almost at the top, and he was able to see the map. "Hold still, now," he was actually talking to it, "This will all be over before you know it."
He tried to reach for it. "Just a little closer. I almost got it..." He stretched as far as he could and grabbed it quickly. "Gotcha!"
He pulled it off and held it close to him. "See? That wasn't so hard."
Part 4 coming soon.

Part 2 part 2:
The lights in the building were on. He figured that he could sneak to the roof from inside. He slowly crept through the door and into the corner. He soon found himself laying on the floor. "It's so warm in here," he whispered.
He couldn't enjoy it for long. He had to grab the map before it blew away again. He forced himself up, and he hid in the elevator. Pretty soon, he was on the roof. He almost regretted himself when he stepped back out into the snow. The ground around him was slippery and icy, making it difficult to stand still.
"I have to be careful," he warned himself.

Part 2:
He stopped when he saw something on top of a pile of snow. It was flat and looked wrinkled from the wind. Kowalski gasped when he realized something: it was the map! "Yes! he ran to it.
The wind blew it higher into the sky. Kowalski saw it fly to the top of a building. Afterwards, there was nothing. "It's stuck up there!" he ran to the side of the building, "But how on earth am I supposed to get up there?"

Alright, I found where I left off.
Part 1:
Kowalski sat down hopelessly. "Now what do I do? I am completely alone, and I don't know where I'm going." He was almost in tears. "But...I have to continue. For Private!"
He kept his back against the wind as he trudged onward. For thirty minutes, he felt as if he were walking in circles. He was humming to himself, since there was no one to talk to. As the snow cleared up bit by bit, the wind grew stronger. "This is taking forever," he muttered, "I wish I had the map."
Part 2 coming soon.

Here's the problem: I don't remember which part I left off on! I'll have to read through my journal and try to find it.
I even forgot which part number it was. Man, I have a horrible memory...
