A beep came from my earpiece: "Agent Schism, report to room 14 for briefing immediately." I quickly walked past others, through spotless white hallways to a door numbered "Conference Room 14". A man was waiting for me with a file, bulging with papers and pictures. He handed it to me and as I skimmed the first few pages said, "Your mission is to gather and new information on these mutants, and find any suitable for our purposes. You have four weeks at most. Also, you will need to have an alteration before you go." I nodded, wondering what ability they would give me now. I was their most efficient experiment, their favorite guinea pig. I didn't even know why, but I didn't know what else I would do. I had woken up in this place two years ago, with absolutely no memory of who I was. They said I was to be an agent, to help humanity. I was a mutant, my power was an unusual one.
I read the first two papers in front of me to myself: "Charles Xavier and James Logan." TBC
Name: Maggie T
Super Name: Magpie (like the bird)
Powers: Controls fear, darkness and gravity. Also when she uses her gravity power to float or sink something, then she can move it like telepathy.
Personality: Sly, curious, defiant, brave, proud, sneaky, kind/caring only to Night Crawler (told why in her story), evil seeming to most and soft/sentimental side underneath, kick butt fighter
Looks: Long, black hair that reaches the small of her back with a white string in front on each side (like the birds wings); piercing ice blue eyes, a bridge of freckles across her nose; 5?8; long claw like nails; a scar running from the corner of her right eye to just below her cheek bone; slim, lithe and athletic looking
Her Story: When she was 3, Magneto got rid of her parents and all that she remembers about is 1. His face 2. Her parents screaming 3. The small enclosed place that she had been hiding in. Now, she hunts down Magneto trying to get her revenge, and she'll take down anyone who gets in her way. That is until she meets Curt. NC teleported on top of her when she was hot on Magnetos trail. He convinced her of a different path, the x-men path.
Hope you like her. I have a story on her that has what is not on here if you would like to read what is there? not all of it is
Xavier looked at me with pity. "You do not know your past, do you?" I recovered, angry at his reaction. "i don't need your pity, nor your help. Anyway, it's none of your business." He nodded as if he expected this. "Logan also lost his memory, you know. We are making progress, helping recover certain memories. We could do the same for you, if you want." I shook my head, not used to this, this genuine wish to help. I was taught to act cool and collected in the field, not to show any emotion. "I - I need to get to my classes." I left Xavier outside, hurrying past Logan and Maria, as well as several other students in the kitchen.
The rest of the day was fairly normal, though I often caught glances of Xavier observing me. I ended up alone in my room, having to make my first report. "Targets James Logan and Charles Xavier confirmed, area permanent. No threat posed to Beta Team 2, majority possible for repurposing." I listed the names of all the mutants here, besides one. Maria. TBC
I sat down at the kitchen table, Maria on another side. She just looked at me with these beautiful, terrible eyes. I took a deep breath. "My name is" "Your name is not Schism. Your name is Jessa. I know who you are." Then, as I sat in shock, she simply took an apple and calmly walked out, and Logan stepped into the kitchen. "Jessa? Is that your real name?" I gazed after Maria, still trying to understand what she just said. I was never told what my name was, just given the agent name Schism and sent off. But it sounded so familiar it hurt. "You okay, girly? Whoa!" I curled up on the seat, trying to remember something. Anything. "You - you just grew YOUNGER. How - is that your ability?" I shook my head, trying to to ignore him and concentrate. "Logan, can you please leave us?" Xavier appeared in the kitchen, looking extremely troubled. "Please follow me." I nodded numbly and stood up, unconsciously growing even younger as I followed him outside. He turned to face me. TBC
As I lay awake in bed, I unconsciously practiced my power. My natural one, that is. Before I knew it, it was morning and I got up. Dressing in my usual jeans and black hoodie, I walked downstairs. "Why are you awake?" I turned to see a young girl, her accent quite pronounced. "I do not sleep but why are you not sleeping?" I suddenly felt my mind, well, drift away. My shields didn't? work?. "Maria." I snapped back to reality, finding myself on the floor in front of the girl. The professor had one hand on her shoulder, her expression neutral. "What was that?" The professor moved forwards, the girl-Maria, walked past me to the kitchen. "We found her in northern Russia. Maria's power, well, makes people lose their minds. We are still attempting to help her subdue it, but frankly, she has the potential to wipe the minds of the entire world. She does not like to sleep. Nightmares that terrify even Logan." I nodded, standing up. I couldn't even imagine what They would do with her.TBC
"Oh, hello. Are you a new student?" A blue-furred, well, demon sat on the windowsill. "Yeah. I'm Ag-Schism." I hadn't been out in the field for a while. The mutant smiled. "I'm Kurt Wagner, but please, call me Kurt. Everyone does." I nodded, trying to guess what his power was. "So, what can you do?" Kurt smiled and suddenly disappeared in a cloud of blue, and reappeared outside in midair for a split second, waving as he started to fall. "Hey!" Startled, I ran to the window. He was gone. I whirled around, immediately in a defensive posture. "Whoa, calm down. I am a teleporter." I nodded and moved to my bed, still tense. "I guess I'm just tired. Its been a long day." Kurt smiled understandingly, vanishing from the room. Lying came so easy now, it was practically a habit by now. TBC
"I already told you. Schism." Frost seemed ready to find out by force, but Xavier intervened. "Logan, I would like you to show our new student the grounds. Emma, I would like to speak to you in private." They were obviously going to talk to me, so I sort of tagged along - psychically, that is. Xavier lead Frost into another room, some part of the library. "She cannot stay here! She has been sent here, I saw it!" Frost paced back and forth. "We don't know that for sure, Emma. I believe we should trust her, if only for the time being. And that is final." Xavier finished sternly, as Frost was about to interrupt. I decided that was all that concerned me, and returned back to Logan. "Um, can I have a place to rest? I'm kind of tired right now." Logan motioned towards a door. "Your room's over there. You'll have to start classes tomorrow, as it's too late today." I nodded my thanks and closed the door behind me. Suddenly there was a sound from behind me, and I whirled around. TBC
