A/N: This is a remake of my first fanfic, I changed it up a little though. It got deleted because it was unpopular. Please don?t let it happen again.
CHAPTER 1
?May, come here!? Savannah yelled to her best friend, May.
?Okay.? May said.
?I found this bird, I think your cat caught it.? Savannah said.
?Again?!? May said.
?Yep, it has a broken wing, we should help it.? Savannah said, her bright blue eyes glinted in the sunlight.
?Okay, I?ll go get the first-aid kit and some sticks.? May said, she stood up and walked up a hill and vanished over the top, ten minutes later she came back and had some sticks and a first-aid kit.
?You hold out the wing and I?ll get it splinted.? Savannah said, she finished and looked at the little bird. ?That wasn?t so bad was it little guy?? She said.
?HELP!!!!!!? They heard someone yell, they heard the sound of Druel Agents, they saw someone running from a group of Druel Agents. May managed to knock out a Druel Agent , she was fighting while Savannah tried to calm down the person. They finally won and left the Druel Agents tied up for the Voltron Force, what they didn?t know was The Voltron Force had just got there and seen them. The force needed more cadets.
On Planet Arus in The Castle of Lions in the main meeting room.
?I think they have the skill, the bravery, and the brains to join. What do you guys think?? Keith asked the force.
?I agree.? Allura said, even though her and Pidge were no longer pilots, they got a say in decisions like these.
?I can?t think why not.? Pidge said.
?Wait, we just saw the end of the battle, not the whole thing, how do we know that it was just them?? Lance asked.
?I agree with Keith.? Hunk said.
?I agree with Keith.? Vince said.
?I agree with Keith.? Larmina said
?What, no one agrees with me?? Lance asked.
?And for good reason.? Larmina said under her breath.
CHAPTER 17
Savannah thought nothing of the mess up with the test flight, and went on with life. She trained, fought with May, played with Chirps, and talked with animals, just her normal life. And one day, a month or two after the Cub Force was completed, her, May, and Daniel were out on a mission.
?They told us to look for a crashed hagarium shipping vessel.? Savannah confirmed through the connected intercoms of the lions.
?I see something!? May said, they were passing over the crashed vehicle.
?Thats it!? Savannah smiled, they landed, and went to investigate. Supposedly it was making the animals act odd, and they were supposed to take it to a designated abandoned planet. ?I?ll go that way, you can explore the rest of it,? Savannah waved to the others and wandered off down a darker hallway. She went through the dark corridors, Chirps occasionally climbing up her arm and looking around from under her hair.
?Ooh, whats that?!? Chirps chirped, looking at an odd purple glow coming from the broken door to their left.
?I don?t know, but I?m gonna check it out,? Savannah walked over and pushed the door open. Suddenly her owl necklace glowed the color of hagarium, and Savannah blacked out.
?She can find her own way out,? May smirked, her and Daniel had just come across Savannah, who had passed out, ?Besides, we only need two lions to move this thing.?
?So, we?re gonna move her out of here and leave her?? Daniel asked.
?Yep,? May grinned.
?But we might get suspended from training,? Daniel pointed out.
?Not if I can help it,? May assured, dragging Savannah out to the ground by the ship. They left, leaving Savannah and Chirps behind.
?Hey, are you okay?? A kid asked, he was sitting by Savannah when she woke up.
?I don?t know, where am I?? She asked.
?On Taman,? The boy said, ?Not surprised you don?t know it, it?s just a small planet.
?I was sent here on a mission with my friends, to get rid of that ship,? Savannah sat up and rubbed her head. She saw her Cub where it had been before they went into the ship. ?Chirps, where are you?? Savannah asked, Chirps scrambled onto her shoulders.
?Here!? Chirps squeaked, ?Are you okay? You blacked out.?
?I?m fine, Chirps,? Savannah smiled, then noticed the odd look the stranger was giving her. ?I can talk to animals,?
?Really? You can talk to animals?? The boy seemed impressed.
?Yep, by the way, do you have a name?? Savannah asked.
?Yes, my name is Cannan,? He grinned, ?And I know you?re part of the Voltron Force.?
?How did you know that?? Savannah questioned.
?I found this, and that,? He explained, holding up her voltcom and pointing to the Cub.
?Thanks, I really need to get back though,? Savannah stood, gently taking the voltcom from Cannan and putting it back on her wrist.
?I want to come too! Please, bring me along,? He begged, standing up. He was at least a head taller than Savannah, and had tan skin, brown hair, and black eyes.
?Okay, but I don?t know if the pilots will agree. Go on, get in,? Savannah let Cannan get into Grey Cub, then followed, sitting in the pilots seat and buckling up. ?Ready for the ride of your life?? She grinned.
CHAPTER 16
?Savannah, I have a bad feeling about that charm!? Chirps warned.
?It?s okay, Chirps. It?s just a necklace.? Savannah brushed off Chirps warning.
?The mouse is right, you know.? A serpent hissed. ?I saw an odd looking boy place it there two days ago.?
?Whatever.? Savannah waved off both warnings, picking up the necklace and putting it around her neck. It clicked against the chain, light reflecting off of the crystals, turning them the color of Hagarium. Chirps scurried back onto Savannah?s shoulder, giving up on trying to convince her to leave the necklace.
?Hey, May, did you lose a necklace or anything?? Savannah asked.
?No.? May barely looked up. After asking all the girls in the castle about the necklace, Savannah decided to keep it for herself.
?Savannah, get rid of that necklace!? Chirps squeaked. ?I have a terrible feeling about it!?
?Chirps, go to bed.? Savannah yawned, it was almost midnight and Savannah was still up, she had been writing and lost track of time. Savannah tucked the necklace under her pillow and pulled the covers over her shoulder, turning away form Chirps. The next morning, Savannah almost fell off of the bunk-bed she shared with May when the alarm clock went off. Savannah pressed SNOOZE so May could sleep a little more while Savannah got ready. Savannah was heading up for some before breakfast training when May woke up. With the small golden ow necklace around her neck and her voltcom on, Savannah headed up the stairs to the training room.
?Morning.? André greeted.
?Good morning.? Savannah nodded back. She practiced a few fight moves with André before breakfast, but quickly ran to the dinning hall when there was breakfast.
?Looks like you were up early.? Larmina greeted.
?Yep.? Savannah smiled. After eating a quick breakfast Savannah ran to the garage.
?Hey, Savannah! We?ve almost got the last of the Cub Force assembled.? Pidge said.
?Yay! And it?s almost May?s birthday, this will be a great surprise.? Savannah smiled, it remained a mystery to everyone how Savannah could still get along with May.
?Thats good.? Pidge nodded. Everyone hoped, for Savannah?s sake, that May would finally realize how much she had hurt Savannah by abandoning her. ?In fact, the last will be ready for a test flight this afternoon.? Pidge added.
?Thats great!? Savannah smiled. ?I can test it.?
?Okay, I?ll send Vince to find you when it?s ready.? Pidge nodded. Savannah went to the training room, and trained until Vince dropped by.
?Savannah, come to the garage.? He said.
?Okay.? Savannah nodded, walking to the garage behind Vince.
?Alright, just like with the last two you test ran.? Pidge instructed as Savannah buckled into the seat.
?Got it.? Savannah nodded. Once she was off, the lions controls kept locking up, and it was getting hard to steer. After a few minutes it was back to normal. Soon she was pulling back into the garage. ?It was all good, Pidge, except at first the controls would lock up.? Savannah reported.
?Okay, I?ll look at that.? Pidge nodded.
?See you.? Savannah waved, running back to the training room.
CHAPTER 15
By the next week, Savannah wanted nothing more than to train. Even if she did have to train with May. Savannah ran up to the classroom.
?Okay, the pilots went on a mission today, so I?ll be teaching class today. Hand to hand combat is the lesson.? André grinned.
?Ugh.? May and Daniel groaned.
?Oh yeah!? Savannah pumped her fist in the air. May glared at her, but she chose to ignore it. A few minutes later, Savannah and May were sparring. Savannah had a weak build, and mainly relied on a plan to get through a fight, May relied on sheer strength. Savannah could dodge punches and throw fast punches, but they were weak and did little damage.
?Good job, Savannah. Wear down your opponent?s strength and keep out of reach, eventually you can throw a finishing attack.? André said. May pulled back her fist and sent it barreling into Savannah?s gut. Savannah doubled over in pain, coughing and gasping. May took the chance to knock Savannah?s legs out from under her with a hard kick to the back of the legs. Savannah collapsed, trying to catch her breath. ?Good job, May. Savannah, you can take a break if you need.?
?No, I?m fine.? Savannah feebly pushed herself back to her feet. ?I don?t have time to rest. I?m already far behind the others.?
?If you feel you can keep going, then do.? André said. Savannah got ready for another match against May. ?Go.? André said, signaling the beginning of the next match. Savannah went to trying to use her weight to wear May down. Savannah would throw her weight into one shoulder and nail May with it, trying to knock her off balance repeatedly. For ten minutes Savannah dodged out of May?s reach and hit her, but soon both were wearing down. Finally, Savannah knocked May to the ground. After class, André and Savannah went in separate directions. Ever since the night in the tunnels, things had been awkward between them. Savannah went down to her room, getting there before May. She had been designing a special pocket for Chirps. She had made it to where Chirps could be in the middle of a fight with her, and wouldn?t get hurt. It was designed to attack to the waist and shoulders of any of her cadet uniforms.
?Almost done, Chirps.? Savannah smiled, finishing up the last of the designs and work for the first prototype. Savannah had felt lonely and worthless since her and André had been avoiding each other. Her best friends didn?t care about her anymore, and 3D was gone. Savannah now spent the majority of her free time flying Grey Cub around the area around the castle. She would also explore on foot, alone. Of course, Savannah remembered when she would talk to animals when she was younger, hoping for a response, someone to talk to, anything. After Savannah finished the pouch for Chirps, she took him out to explore the area around the castle. She had explored almost everywhere there was to explore, and was now running out of stuff to do in her free time. She wasn?t strong or smart enough to be any help in the garage, she wasn?t any good with the technology in the castle defense room, she didn?t like music, so she was little help to Larmina when she was working on music. Savannah usually did nothing more than train, eat, sleep, and spend time with Chirps. Savannah was exploring the desert where Yellow Lion slept, around the cave when she spotted something in the sand. She brushed the sand away to reveal a small necklace. It was an owl shaped charm, with three gems in the center.
CHAPTER 14
Savannah quickly pulled away from the hug and kiss.
?I?m sorry, André. I know you like Larmina.? Savannah blushed, ducking her head in shame. She ran down the tunnel to her hideout, waiting for André to yell at her, angry at what she did.
?Wait...? André said, he had said it quiet enough not to be heard. He watched Savannah run off down the tunnel. His cheeks had blushed a bright shade of pink as he ran after her.
?I?m sorry.? Savannah muttered.
?Why?? André asked, his lips twitching up into a smile.
?I know you really like Larmina. You wouldn?t like a nerdy, quiet, Voltron wanna be like me.? Savannah said, rubbing her arm and turning her head away.
?But, I know Larmina doesn?t like me. She wouldn?t love an animal loving, softie like me.? André sighed.
?She does like you. But she likes Daniel too.? Savannah said. ?She?s ticked at Daniel for liking May, and she likes you for being so kind to her when Daniel?s been a jerk.?
?I doubt she genuinely likes me.? André sighed.
?Well I do.? Savannah said. This time she didn?t kiss him, but he kissed her. It surprised them both. It surprised Savannah that it happened that quickly, and it surprised Andre that he did it. Savannah quickly pulled away and ran, pushing the door open and letting it swing shut as she ran through the tunnels. She ran up the stairs and to the main area of the castle. Everyone was rushing around.
?There you are, Savannah!? Pidge ran over.
?Yeah, everyone?s been looking for you.? Vince ran up behind him.
?Sorry, I was downstairs.? Savannah said. Later Savannah was getting scolded, yet again, for running off and disappearing.
?We had everyone, even the space mice looking for you!? Keith said.
?I?m sorry, I lost track of time.? Savannah said, She lost her Voltcom for another week. She was falling behind May and Daniel training wise. Savannah went down to her room a few days later, only to be locked out. She didn?t want to sleep in the tunnels again, so she went to the other?s rooms. There were no spare rooms, and the others wouldn?t even let her take a corner of their room. She dragged a blanket and pillow from room to room. ?Allura, May locked me out of our room, can I stay here?? She asked.
?Of course.? Allura said. Savannah went to a corner and put the pillow down, dragging the blanket up onto her shoulders and quickly fell asleep. The next morning she got to sleep later than normal, because she was off duty for a week. She went down to the tunnels again. André had agreed to try and help her learn to talk to animals.
?It?s really not that hard. If they want to, they?ll talk to you.? He said, Chirps was sitting on a table in front of them. ?I can tell Chirps does want to talk to you. Just stay openminded.? André instructed.
?Hey, Chirps is talking to me!? Savannah said.
?Hey Savannah, would you mind taking me out for a walk today?? Chirps squeaked to Savannah.
?Did you hear him!?? Savannah seemed overjoyed.
?I can?t hear what animals say to you, just what they say to me.? André explained.
?Oh.? Savannah said, still happy.

CHAPTER 13
?Whats your problem, May?!? Savannah screamed again, May just stared at her, wide eyed and frightened by her normally calm friend?s sudden outburst. Savannah stormed out of the classroom and down to the tunnels and her hideout. She had made a big door of scrap metal, forged together by Pidge, the door covered off part of the tunnel. It hid it from most people. Savannah sat in a corner between two chairs and a table. She pulled her knees to her chest and laying her head on them. She cried, and cried, and cried. She lost track of time, she didn?t even know what time it is.
?Savannah?!? André called. ?I know you?re down here! The space mice told me!?
?How?? Savannah managed to choke out.
?I can talk to animals.? André sighed. ?I thought I told you.?
?No.? Savannah shook her head. She got up and opened the door, letting André in.
?Why are you down here?? André asked, looking around Savannah?s hideout.
?I wanted to be alone. But clearly the space mice don?t respect my privacy.? Savannah growled, looking around her hideout as well.
?Whats wrong?? André asked, sitting next to Savannah.
?May. She?s the reason for all my problems.? Savannah growled bitterly.
?Now, I?m sure it?s not that bad.? André soothed.
?REALLY?! THEN WHY DOES MAY TRY AND GET ME STALLED FROM THE FORCE, KICKED OFF THE FORCE, ANY THING TO BUG ME AND MAKE ME MISERABLE!? Savannah?s normally calm and gentle nature was gone. She stood up, accidentally knocking the table over. The chairs toppled as she ran into them. She ran deeper into the tunnels, hoping to find somewhere to be alone. To cry. The tunnels were completely unlit, dark, and quiet. She curled up against the wall, her sobs lightened, reducing to quiet whimpers.
?Savannah, please come back!? André called, he had his Voltcom?s flashlight on, holding it around to see the tunnels.
?Go away.? Savannah whispered. She started to run again, but André grabbed her wrist. His grip was like a vice. ?Let go!? Savannah whined.
?No.? André said simply. Savannah kicked him in the shin, but he didn?t go. He didn?t even flinch. Savannah squirmed and jerked her arm, trying to get away.
?Please.? Savannah cried.
?Savannah, calm down. Listen, things will get better, you just can?t run and hide from every problem.? André whispered. Savannah stopped struggling and hugged him.
?I?m just afraid I?ll lose my first friend. I?m afraid that the best ting in my life will ruin my friendship. Ever since we joined the Voltron Force we?ve been in an all out cat fight.? Savannah cried.
?It?ll get better.? André assured.
?What if May hates me?? Savannah whispered, her head on André?s shoulder.
?Why would she hate you? You?re the best friend she could ever have.? André said.
?She hates me! I?ve lost my best friend!? Savannah was now wailing. André listened quietly. He knew Savannah no longer needed reassuring words, but a quiet listener. ?She only cared about impressing the pilots and Daniel.? Savannah wailed again. After many self-crushing words and tears, Savannah just stood there silently. Her head on André?s shoulder, her arms around his shoulders as well. ?Thank you, André.? Savannah whispered, and she kissed him.
CHAPTER 12
Over the next week, Savannah was setting up a nice secret hideout in the lowest tunnels of the castle. There were catacombs, storage tunnels, and shelters scattered bellow the castle, and she had explored just about everyone there was to explore. Soon she had a nice rug laid out, with some old chairs and a table. If she didn?t want to hang around May, well, she has the whole castle. She could find somewhere away from May where she could enjoy herself. Savannah took her iPod and went to her new hideout. She sat there, one headphone in, the other sitting on the table. She was writing in her other notebook with a story about foxes, called Lost, the Tail of a Fox. Savannah gently bobbed her head to the rhythm of her music.
?Ship wreck in a sea of faces, theres a dreamy world up there.? She murmured the words to Take to the Sky by Owl City as she listened. She scribbled down the story, listening upstairs for any commotion. She could lose herself for hours in her writing, completely oblivious to the world around her. Her ideas filled page after page, her hand cramped up. ?Ow.? She muttered. She flexed her hand and rubbed it, once the cramp stopped she went back to writing, running down the pencil down, sharpening it, running it down, sharpening it, running it down, soon the pencil was little more than a stump with an eraser. She went upstairs and got a new pencil, only to be confronted by Andre.
?Oh, hey Savannah.? He smiled.
?Hi, Andre.? Savannah smiled back.
?I think Pidge was looking for you, by the way.? Andre said, walking past.
?Thanks!? Savannah called back, running to the garage.
?Oh, Savannah, Pidge finished the first Cub Force robot.? Vince said.
?Okay.? Savannah said, walking to the end of the garage where the Cub Force Voltron had been being designed.
?There you are, Savannah. I?ve finished the first Cub, but I?m going to let you take it for a test run.? Pidge said. ?And try not to crash it.?
?Okay.? Savannah smiled. She took it out, the controls were a little tricky to manage with one good arm, but she managed. She took it around the castle, first on the ground, then she would test out flying. It went well, and by the time she went back to the garage it was dark out. She ate and went down to her and May?s room. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. ?May, open up!? Savannah pounded on the door.
?No.? May said.
?Fine, I?ll find somewhere else to sleep!? Savannah growled, walking down to the storage tunnels. She went to her hideout and laid on the rug. She tossed and turned, not able to sleep. She had an alarm set on her watch for the morning, and it went of before she even fell asleep. Savannah went up to the training room and got ready, May was late as usual. ?Sleep well?? Savannah asked in a ticked off tone.
?Why yes, I did.? May taunted. Savannah just grumbled in response.
?Sit down, bot of you.? Lance said. He was teaching class that day.
?Uh, Lance, do I have to sit next to May?? Savannah asked.
?Yes.? Lance said, Daniel had sat on the end so he wouldn?t be stuck between May and Savannah while they argued. The whole class May was trying to bug Savannah, but since May was Lance?s follow up in Red Lion he didn?t get her in trouble. Eventually Savannah had it with May.
?STOP IT MAY!? Savannah screamed.
