"Where exactly is Dessarae gonna be?"I asked Sierra as we traipsed through the dark, creatures of the night at ease. The shores of the city appeared in the distance as we left the tall skyscrapers and streets packed with parked cars behind, golden dunes planted among the wavy sand, the waves lapping against the shore in gentle grace. Our mission was soon to began.
"Dessarae said to meet her in the place of my dream,"she replied, pulling the strap of her sack higher upon her shoulder. "It was the beach."
"The beach?"Leo asked, carrying his own sack."Are you sure? Beaches are symbols of fun and relaxation, not departure."
"I don't know,"Sierra answered."I'm not much for knowing lately." She scanned the horizon for any signs of a six-foot-tall mutant angel. She would've been easy to spot.
"Did we pack for nothing?"Maggie asked."My back is sore."
"Maggie, you didn't even do anything,"Jenny retorted, rolling her eyes.
"Nothing is worth something right now,"Donnie said, pointing."Look."
We all turned, facing the hues of the deep blue sea. A figure stood, her back arched, her head held high, in the way of a proud mother, or loyal king. She turned her head slightly towards us, and beckoned,"Come."
I shared a glance with Leo before we stepped forward. Dessarae gave us each one acknowledge-filled look before opening her delicate lips. "I am truly greatful for your effort on behalf of my world,"she said, giving a smile. "You have no knowledge of my feelings of gratitude towards you."
"We're glad to help,"Leo said respectfully.
"I have assured you that your passage to my world would be covered, nourishments and shelter included, correct?"
"Yes,"
"And I have given you enough knowledge about my world's terrain in advance, correct?"
"Yes,"
"Then we are set to depart,"she said, turning away from us and towards the open sea. She raised both her arms elegantly and stressed the force in her fingers. "What's she doing?"Mikey asked, and we all shushed him, except for his girlfriend, Maggie, who was probably wondering the same thing.
"Close your eyes,heroes,"she said, still facing the water.
I watched everyone, one by one, shut their eyelids. After a second, I joined them, my vision enveloped in even more darkness than before.
~***~
"It is safe to open your eyes now,"Dessarae's voice rang out from the piercing silence. I forced my eyelids to open, blinking a few times before seeing the scene clearly. It was a warm color themed-room, with red floors, orange walls, and wooden furniture arranged tastefully. It was all we could see.
Leo was next to me, gazing at the room in confusion."How are we gonna get out of here?"he wondered aloud.
"I am here, heroes,"Dessarae called, a doorway opening in the wall.
"Guess that's our way,"Raph said, and we entered through the doorway, spilling into a large control room with an extra-large windshield painting the scene outside. At first, I saw a starry landscape with a pitch-black backdrop, but after I blinked a couple of times, I knew we were actually flying among the stars. "Are we in...?"
"Yes, we are in the place that humans call 'space',"Dessarae answered. "We will arrive in a few minutes."
"Minutes?"Donnie said."But it takes months for a rover to reach Mars. Isn't your world in a different galaxy?"
"Yes,"she said."But if I were to arrive at Earth, I must have advanced technology,no?"
"I guess so, but-"
Eight chairs popped up from the floor. "Have a seat,"she said, gesturing towards the chairs.
I tentatively edged into my seat, and a seatbelt flew across me to click into the buckle on the other side. Everyone else was adjusting into their seats as well, with a few comments to add.
"Hold on tight, heroes,"Dessarae said, and waved her arms, vanishing.
"Tight?"Mikey asked.
Before anyone could respond, everything went into super fast-motion. I felt every cell and being of me being stretched like taffy, into little bits and pieces of atoms. Everything gained a slanted appearance, making me feel as if I was running through the starry scene before me. I was sinking into the back of my seat, unable to move a single muscle.
I tried closing my eyes, but to no avail.
Please be over soon.
@discovery7

Im probably the worst reader and writer on this message boards!
~A guilty Tmntl1 :\
Oh, and I forgot to say that my name is also a city in Japan(Splinter's Home!). It's spelled Kobe, but still, same thing! And thank you everyone who likes my name! Peace!
TMNT9568 OUT!!
You guys all have awesome names! Mine just HAPPENS to be that of a certain character in Opportunity Shines Bright in This Darkness. Whose name is Janna. My name isn't that unique but it is spelled differently. Usually they only put one N in Janna(Jana?) I dunno. But there ya have it!
@Mikaracat
No, Laura is NOT boring! I have two friends named Laura, I just read a book with a girl named Laura...Laura is a beautiful name that emphasizes how great you are! Personally, it reminds me of flowers...I think they are special because of how they grow, that they can make their own food (survive and thrive!), and how they have beautiful colors. So, Laura is actually a majestic and elegant name!
Frankly, I love 'Chips', too!
@tmnt9586
Kobi? That's such a cool name! I am a fan of basketball, and another thing...I like known but unusual names! :)
Aw, thank you so much, TC1!! I didn't feel uncomfortable, I don't ever think you're pushing me, but I thought you would like to know! I just love your name, too; Alaria is extremely unique, along with Ramneet, I just love how it sounds!
That's so cool you play bass, TC1! And some guitar! I've always loved how electric guitars sound, but for the life of me I couldn't play it! My fingers no likey to work in that way. Mine are all long and bony, which is good for playing piano, I guess!
You put that perfectly! Laura is exactly how you described it, I couldn't do it any better!! Gosh, that was awesome! Yes, dip is soooo good! Chips for me are just a conveyance for dip. And so are fries for ketchup.
Cariomario, I get confused, too, because my family all calls me Nina most of the time! But when I'm in trouble, my dad will bring out my full name...Everyone else only knows me as Christina, so one time when my friend called me Nina I was so confused! He noticed my sister called me that, and he teased me none-stop for it...It's like two different world that don't mix!
Mikaracat, I like that name! Laura is not too common in my area, but it's always pretty! And every Laura I meet is nice, and so is every Lisa! Seriously, every Lisa I know is the sweetest thing! But yes, your nickname is now Chips! Mine is Pickles, also given out by the awesome TC1
That's neat, tmnt9568! You were destined for turtles, that sounds like something out of Star Wars! I think my name means, 'Follower of Christ', I'm not sure...
@Dis
That's such a cool name! My name I guess is unique( For a girl to have the name). It's Kobi (Ko-Bee) like the basketball player, but with a 'i' instead of an 'e'. A lot of the boys at school call me Kobe Bryant. And something that is really weird; my middle name is Ryan, and Ryan is in Bryant. bRYANt. I love my name!!
TMNT9568 OUT!!
Also, did you know my name acually means turtle? When I found out, my mom told me it was my destiny to love the turtles!!!
I like the name Laura! It isn't boring, it's elegant. It's simple and old fashioned, but complex at the same time! And it's fun to say! And I also like calling you Chips!!! And I like the nickname 'Dip'. Dip is delicious.
Well, for what it's worth, my name is Laura! (Kinda boring compared to everyone elses'!)
I've never really had a nick-name before...(except Mikaracat, LOL) However, I've been dubbed 'Chips' by TC1, AKA 'Dip'! It's exciting! My first nick-name!
awww, it's okay! Everyone I know calls me Carolyn at first! When I came back from camp this summer where everyone and I mean ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE knew the one and only Cegan in the camp, and then at the airport when I get off to meet my mom she calls me Caroline. I'm just like "Who's Caroline?" because I was so confused! I eventually grew back to being known as Caroline later.
Whoops! I didn't mean to post my previous reply twice! Ah, well.
TC1, that's so awesome you got first in your music competition! What instrument to you play?? I play piano, but I've never been in a competition. I have been in karate tournaments, and those are so scary! I got first place in by bo kata last time, and my sister and I got first in synchronized kata! It was just within our dojo, though, so I don't think it counts... But I think it takes true talent to be in the top in writing and music competitions, you guys are awesome!
Cariomario, I love your name! It's so pretty, I've always thought it was so beautiful! I actually named my female hero Caroline in a previous short story I did
@Nina
No, Jenny was here in the beginning. I don't think I accepted OCs for this story...huh. I'll check.
@everyone
Okay, so AT is Christina (that name I heard of, but not many people I know have that name! It's pretty), TC1 is Alaria (now that name is UNIQUE!), cario is Cegan (I know, Caroline, but I'm going with your needs ) mvaleria is Valeria (that is also a very pretty name!)...
am I missing anybody? I hope not...
Oh, yeah...my name is Ramneet... aka RAMEN NOODLES (what?)
---> Dis <---
Oh yeah, and thanks for giving me so many powerful encouragements throughout my Power of the Pen tournaments! You guys are the best!
Oh. . . AT. . . Cristina. . . is. . . A. . . BEAUTIFUL NAME!!! The fact that it's your name makes me like it even more!! Anyway, I was curious, but I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable. I know you trust me, and I trust you, but some things can make people nervous like that! And I don't mind being teased. It literally happens to me every day :P.
Oh, so that's where Cegan from your story comes from, cariomario! That's cool! I don't know if I'd want a different name, I like mine! But if I had to choose, I think it'd be Elizabeth which would be shortened to Lizzy. I's elegant, unique, and quirky! It's also from my favorite movie, Pride and Prejudice
Aw, thanks, Dis! I like my nickname, and none of my friends have it! Your name is also super cool, Ramneet is very pretty, and now I know how Ramen Noodles (what?) fits in!
I'm sorry you didn't get to State for your competition, but fourth and fifth out of 32 schools is fantastic! That means you're awesome anyways
I loved reading Beezus and Ramona, TC1!! It was so funny! Hmm, alright, I'll tell you my name now! I trust you, and I kinda teased you before, sorry! Ok, my name is Christina. You can see how Nina fits in, and I like it better than Christi or Chris. I don't like nicknames at all, but Nina is special, and so is AT! Unfortunately, every single person who I first meet gets my name wrong; they call me Christine! Gah!
Lol! My friend told me what ramen noodles were literally just an hour ago! Ramneet is a really cool name! I wish I had a more unusual name. My name is Caroline (Care-o-line), and I'm named after the 100's of Carolines my parents know. Cegan (Kee-gan) is a mix of my first and last name, because there are at least three Carolines in my grade. One I call Kirby, one is just plain Caroline, and I'm Cegan. Sometimes my friends call me Ceegs or the Ceganator. But my phone pronounces my name as Se-gan, and it's kinda annoying.
Wow. .. I LOVE your name, Dis! I have no idea why, but I just do! Ramneet! It's so epic! And it's too bad you didn't make it to state! Although! Forth isn't too bad, is it? It's actually awesome! And that reminds me! I forgot to tell you guys: I had this really scary music competition thing and I was super nervous because I have horrible stage fright! Anyway, we preformed three songs (I felt like I messed up on the easiest song a lot :P), I was jittery the whole time. . . anyway, we came in first out of all the middle school orchestras in the tri-cities! Granted, it's not as many as 32 (Wow, Dis, WOW!). . . it was still cool though, cause we're a small group. . . anyway! I'll bet you would have won, DIS!!!!!!!!!! YAY!
HUGS! <(^ ^)
