A/N: This is the sequel to my story, The New Girl in the Group.
CHATER 1
(Orincus's POV)
I rolled over in my bed. I woke up because my covers had fallen off the foot of my bed. I felt unusually cold when I noticed broken glass on the floor of my room, the window was broken, I looked around, I saw a long nighttime shadow stretch across my wall.
?Perfect, three Controllers in one swipe!? A shrill voice trilled. I jumped out of bed, I grabbed my core-clip from my bedside table. I ran across the room to the light switch, when I turned on the light, my room was in shambles, I heard a crash from the other room. I ran to the living room, crashed as well, then my parent?s room. There were clothes strewn across the floor from the tipped dresser, there was broken glass from the window and mirror, on a few shards of glass there was drying blood, pictures from the dresser and wall were on the floor, frames smashed, pictures torn or burnt, the bed in the corner of the room was on its side, the small table and chairs from the other corner of the room were bashed and smashed all around the floor, the bedside table was upside-down, the clock was busted on the floor next to it. I jumped out of the window, landing on the soft grass below. I chased after the shadowy figures racing through the forest, two or three up high in the trees, jumping from branch to branch. Others were running along the forest floor, dragging my parents with them. I followed them, I heard a echoing laugh, it seemed to bounce off the trees themselves, then I heard a clank, like a core on a tree. ?Poison-wing! Poison fog!? The voice commanded, an odd green fog enveloped the forest around me. I continued the chase, until I felt fatigued, I couldn?t catch my breathe, I felt light headed, and eventually I was out. I woke up to dappled sunlight, filtering through the canopy of the trees above, a green tint in the light remained from the canopy.
?Where am I?? I though out loud, I decided to go to Jake?s house for help. I walked to the park and kept going, when I got there Jake was pacing the front yard, he nearly punched me when I walked over to him.
?I?m sorry, Orincus.? He apologized, he looked troubled.
?Whats wrong?? I asked him.
?Last night someone broke into my house, they took my parents, and they tried to take me, but I gave em a hard fight.? He explained, then I noticed he had his core in hand, but it looked like it hadn?t been a MONSUNO fight only.
?Are you okay?? I asked.
?I don?t know, their MONSUNO did something, I don?t know what, but a green fog appeared, then I started feeling light headed, then I was out.? He said.
?Same here.? I said, only just noticing how I still felt sick, then I noticed that the edges of my vision were blurred, and I felt dizzy. I sat down on the ground.
?You feel sick too?? He asked.
?Yes.? I said, putting my head in my hands, trying to let my head clear. Then I started coughing, each cough sent a surge of pain through my head and chest, the world spun around me. I felt Jake put his hand on my shoulder.
?Orincus, are you okay?? I could barely hear Jake ask, then my vision faded. When I woke up I was leaned against the side of Jake?s house, he was kneeling next to me with a worried look on his face.

CHAPTER 13
(3rd Person POV)
Orincus scrambled through the brush behind the stranger.
"Keep up." He growled over his shoulder.
"Yes sir. Thank you for your help." Orincus bowed her head as she caught up.
"You don't have to be so polite." The stranger almost laughed. "I'm only your age, and we're both Controllers."
"Oh, okay- Whats your name?"
"My name is Aguma." He said. "Hurry up, we're almost to my house." He added.
"Okay." Orincus nodded again. Soon a small house came into view. It was more of a cabin.
"Home sweet home." Aguma laughed once they got there. "Do me a favor and get my key out of my pocket for me. Then unlock the door."
"Yes s- I mean Aguma." Orincus nodded, rushing to grab the key out of his pocked. She unlocked the door and opened it, standing aside so Aguma could carry Alice inside. The small cabin was a mess, it smelled, and it was hot and stuffy.
"Get that bed over there ready." He pointed to the bed in the corner.
"Okay." Orincus nodded. She scrambled over the pile of junk and began putting sheets on the mattress and getting blankets and such. Soon Aguma gently set Alice down. Aguma stood silently for a few seconds, looking Orincus up and down.
"Not particularly pretty. Messy, you look and smell like you haven't seen a city for weeks." Aguma was stating to himself as he looked at Orincus's torn clothes and matted hair.
"Hey!" Orincus growled.
"What happened to your back?" Aguma asked.
"I fell on some broken glass." Orincus said, turning her head to look at the blood oozing from tears along her shirt.
"After I take care of your friend I'll look at your back." Aguma nodded. Orincus quietly sat on a pile of dirty clothes until Aguma finished looking Alice over for major injuries. "I'm rather surprised, when I saw your friend falling, I was sure it would kill her. But she hardly has any injuries other than a broken arm where she landed." Aguma mused.
"She's a rather strong willed person, she's not one to give up very easily." Orincus explained.
"I can see that, now let me take a look at your back." Aguma said.
"Okay." Orincus said, turning around and letting Aguma slide the back of her shirt up, revealing the cuts from the glass.
CHAPTER 12
(Orincus?s POV)
As the others looked at my calmness in shock, I stood, shards of glass still remaining in my back, and walked to the staircase. I gently set one foot on the first step. It sank under my weight but I kept going. The next one crumbled partway, but I kept on. I skipped the next one, because there was no step to stand on. I slowly made my way up the stairs to the rooms above. I made it to the end of the hall when I heard something. I took a deep breath, and opened the door I was in front of. I was face to face with Wolf.
?You scared me!? I stumbled back. ?I thought you were a Darkspin agent.?
?I technically am, and so are you.? He said, he still had his usual lack of emotion.
?Well, you know what I mean!? I growled. ?What are you doing here, anyways??
?Same thing as you, exploring.? He answered.
?Wolf, can I ask you a questioned?? I tilted my head to the side.
?Sure.? He replied
?If I left my group of friends, would I be able to stay with you?? I questioned.
?Sure, it would make things a lot easier.? Wolf almost grinned.
?My group doesn?t need me.? I growled harshly. I heard the careful footsteps of my friends climbing the stairs. Jake was first up.
?Orincus, where are you?? He asked. I stayed quiet. Why did I feel so bad about abandoning them? They had no use for me anyway. I finally decided, I would stay with my friends just a bit longer.
?Wolf, I?m going to stay with my friends, just a bit longer.? I whispered. He nodded, a spark of understanding flashed through his eyes, but they were still emotionless. I scrambled over to my friends.
?There you are, Orincus!? Hector greeted me.
?Hey.? I faked a smile. How long could I hide this from my friends, I was helping the group that took our parents, but I would get our parents back. I knew the others wouldn?t understand, even if I told them. I had to get away soon, before the others got into trouble because of me. That night the group set up camp in the forest surrounding the house. I swore I could hear the thoughts of all of the others? MONSUNOs and all the reptiles and arachnids of the forest. I tossed and turned restlessly, my back sore from the glass. I heard chattering thoughts, it was so hard to ignore it. Finally I drifted to sleep, only to be woken by a muffled scream. I quickly sat up, looking around. I saw the others were gone. The muffled scream had come from farther in the forest. I quickly ran, trying to find the source of the scream. I ended up looking at a Darkspin helicopter. I saw one of the main Darkspin agents had Alice. She was trying to bite his hand to no avail. I could barely hear the agents voice, but his words were menacing.
?Stop it, Squirt, or I?ll throw you out of this helicopter.? When Alice didn?t have the sense to stop, she was thrown from the cockpit. I watched in horror as her body crashed limply to the ground. I rushed over to Alice?s limp form and checked her pulse.
?She?s alive.? I breathed, relieved beyond words.
?You look like you need some help there.? A tall, strong built boy walked up behind me. I jumped at the sudden voice, but then looked closely at him. His hair was messy and hung in his eyes. His eyes were brown, and so was his hair.
?Y-yeah.? I stammered. He walked over and carefully lifted Alice over his shoulder.
?Come on.? He said, not turning back to see if I was following or not.
CHAPTER 11
(Orincus?s POV)
I didn?t grab the core, but I took a deep breath, trying to get control of my anger.
?Attack him, he is worthless!? A voice whispered, it was Meadow-venom.
?No.? I thought, taking a deep breathe.
?You?re right, you don?t need my opinion.? I muttered sadly. I walked to the door, not letting the others see the tears streaming down my face. I slowly pulled the huge doors of the house open. The hinges shifted and flakes of rust dropped to the soft grass growing in the floor just inside the building. There were old fashioned sofas and chairs, ivy climbing up the sides and the legs gave out to age. Shattered glass from windows and picture frames littered the ground. At the back of the room there was a flight of stairs. We all looked around. The awe of the sight made me forget how sad I was. I saw a doorway, giving was to the weight of the wall above it. I walked under the sagging doorframe and got to what used to be a kitchen. There was a small food elevator in the corner. I heard a rustling in the other corner of the room and ducked just before a dove flew out. Wild animals were living here, making this abandoned humans home their own. I walked back to the front room, the others were exploring. I quickly walked away from Jake, wanting to avoid him. Soon we had explored all of the first floor.
?It looks like someone really left this place in a hurry, I wonder why.? I heard Hector say.
?GO! RUN! Don?t worry about your sorry friends, save yourself!? Meadow-venom?s thoughts screamed in my head.
?WHY?! Whats wrong with this place!? I accidentally said out loud. Everyone stared at me. Suddenly a vision flashed through my mind. It was a long time ago, there were people rushing about, some just breaking into coughing fits and leaning against the walls. People weren?t packing anything, just leaving, getting out. Then it flashed to a room upstairs, a small child?s room. There was a baby, she was coughing, her breathing was a hoarse wheeze, and soon all life drained from her body. It flashed back downstairs to the other people, they all met the same fate.
?Who were you talking to?? Hector asked.
?No one.? I said simply. I stood up and walked towards the door.
?Where are you going?? Jake asked.
?I?m leaving, this place doesn?t feel right.? I replied over my shoulder. As I was walking, my foot slipped on something. I looked, and through the dust, dead leaves, and broken glass of centuries past, I saw a bone. I screamed and scuttled backwards, my hand hit something smooth and mostly round. I looked back and saw a skull. I screamed and jumped up, darting for the door.
?Orincus, whats wrong?? Hector asked.
?A-a-a human skull.? I pointed.
?It?s fake, porcelain.? Hector said. I took a few deep breaths. I heard the creak of someone stepping on one of the steps. Most of the steps were rotten or half eaten by termites, only three were fully in tact.
?Jake! Don?t, it could be dangerous!? I shouted, rushing forward and grabbing his wrist, pulling him away from the steps. It knocked him off balance and he landed on top of me, I felt shards of glass going through my shirt and digging into my back. ?Ow.? I whimpered. I waited for Jake to stand up, then slowly stood. I gently reached to the lower shards of glass on my back and started pulling them gently out.
CHAPTER 10
(Alice?s POV)
Orincus was acting weird, she hated heights, and being in that tree was pretty high up.
?Hey guys, where?s Dax?? Jake asked.
?I don?t know. This morning his stuff was packed up and gone, I figured he went ahead to find a good path.? Bela said.
?Maybe this will explain something.? Akira growled darkly, holding up a piece of paper. ?He left.? Her eyes quickly scanned the paper. ?He thinks we can manage on out own, so he just left!? Akira punched a tree. ?Doesn?t he realize we aren?t strong enough to manage on our own!? He saw how badly we got beaten in the first fight before he tried to help!?
?Akira, relax, we CAN manage. Think of how we fought back there yesterday. We were great.? Hector calmed his sister.
?Hector, if it weren?t for Dax protecting us and helping us, we would have gone home. Orincus would be dead! We?re just a group of lost kids trying to find our parents, we need someone to help us. And Dax was the only person who could.? Akira mumbled. Dax had saved them, and helped us figure out what happened to our parents. Now we were just lost and helpless, but me and Bela could help them, we had been through plenty against Darkspin.
(Orincus?s POV)
I could hear the thought of every reptile, spider, scorpion, and tick in the forest, I could also directly hear the thoughts of Meadow-venom and Dark-paw.
?Go this way.? Dark-paw thought, a dark line made a path through the forest. This is what Dark-paw wanted, so it must be right.
?Guys, lets go this way.? I pointed to a slightly over grown path through the trees.
?It doesn?t look like anyone?s been through here for months, no way it?s a way to Darkspin base.? Jake scoffed.
?I KNOW it?s this way, I just have this feeling about it!? I begged them to listen, none of them paid any attention to me. Jake was the leader of our little group, so his opinion was the only one that mattered. I muttered to myself, hanging behind.
?Orincus, you don?t need to stay with your group. You can go on your own.? Meadow-venom?s thoughts rang clearly through my head.
?They?re my friends, I have to help them.? I thought back.
?Who says they?re your friends?? Meadow-venom questioned harshly.
?I do.? I growled back. By now I was falling behind the group. I quickened my step. Soon the others reached a clearing. I heard a quick scream from Alice. I ran into the clearing behind the others. In the middle of the clearing was an abandoned house. It was big, about three stories, and we all went up to it.
?Lets go in!? Jake grinned.
?Go back! STAY AWAY!? Darkpaw?s frantic warning rang in my head.
?Guys, I don?t think its safe to go in there.? I said.
?Don?t be a chicken, Orincus.? Jake laughed.
?Have some common sense, Jake! What is with you lately? Why have you been acting like my opinion doesn?t matter?!? I screamed, tears forming in my eyes.
?Because, I?m the rightful leader of the group, and I don?t need YOUR help.? He sneered smugly. I did the first thing that came to ming, my hand went to Darkpaw?s core.

wow, nice part! It's interesting how Orcinus thought to fall like that to cover up that she was with Klipse! I'm also glad you brought Chloe into this story!
CHAPTER 9
(Orincus?s POV)
I could see a huge building ahead, suddenly Wolf silenced me. A group of Darkspin agents walked by. I gave him a questioning look.
?We?re sort of a secret project. No one but Medea and the scientists know about it, oh, and us.? He explained. We walked all the way to the lowest level of the facility.
?Hello, Wolf. Long time no see.? A lady, maybe in her mid thirties greeted.
?Hi, Chloe.? Wolf greeted. Chloe was in a lab coat and had a clip board. She had straight blond hair and amber eyes, tan skin, and she was tall and skinny. She had an old pair of tattered black air-walks on, she also had a plain white shirt on.
?This is the new subject, I presume?? Chloe tilted her head to the side, looking me up and down from tip of my toes to the top of my head.
?Yep.? Wolf said. ?Oh, Orincus, this is Chloe, she is one of the scientists who is involved in these experiments. And here comes Klipse.? Wolf hung his head.
?Wolf, it?s about time! We?ve been waiting for an hour!? A tall intimidating old dude yelled at Wolf. I made an odd noise of fear and hid behind Wolf.
?Klipse, don?t scare the poor child. She is courageous even coming here.? Chloe scolded.
?Has the new mousy been brought?? Another person walked in. He was creepiest of all.
?Guys, please try not to scare her!? Chloe shouted at the two. ?I?m so sorry, Orincus. Please forgive the two creeps.?
?...? Was all I could say.
?Come on, we have everything set up.? Chloe coaxed.
?It?s okay, Orincus.? Wolf nodded. I followed Chloe, Klipse, and Pyro. We got to a room, there was a chair with all sort of monitors around it.
?Please sit down, Orincus.? Chloe motioned to the chair. I sat down as they got all the monitors set up. ?Now, are you afraid of needles?? Chloe asked.
?A tiny bit.? I sighed, I hated shots, they scared me a lot more than most would expect. I closed my eyes and bit my lip. I felt a slight pinch on my arm. I sat perfectly still. In a matter of seconds it was over and I relaxed a little. My arm hurt, and the pain was spreading through my arm and up to my shoulder. Slowly the slight pain spread through my whole body. I twitched a little, but tried not to move much. I clenched my fists, wishing the pain would go away. Slowly the pain went away, and soon it was completely gone. I heard the sound of a pen scratching on paper.
?Are you okay?? Chloe asked.
?I?m fine. In fact, I feel great.? I smiled, I felt different. After a little more monitoring and such I was free to go. ?Wolf, will you take her back to her friends?? Chloe smiled.
?Alright.? Wolf nodded. ?Come on, Orincus.? He said, leading me back through the building and to the campsite. Once we got there, it was almost day light. ?Don?t tell them where you were.? He whispered in my ear. His warm breathe tickled my ear in the cool fall air.
?Where?s Orincus?? I heard Hector ask. I had a plan to hide this. I went and scaled a tree, dropped down, and purposely it my head on the roots. I felt a bruise forming, but I didn?t care.
?I found her!? I heard Alice exclaim, she walked over. ?What happened??
?I climbed the tree to look at the stars, and I guess I slipped.? I winced.
