As the name of the topic says, Nintendo has annouced the 2DS. The 2DS is like the 3DS, but there's no 3D feature. You can't close it, but there's a Sleep Mode switch. You can play all of your amazing games on there, like Animal Crossing New Leaf and Mario and Luigi Dream Team and blah, blah, blah...
You think I like this idea? It seems so unconvienant. Think about it, the 3DS has a switch to turn off the 3D. You can't close the 2DS. It's pretty much the same thing, and it seems useless. It might be the next Virtural Boy, it won't sell that well. So, is this a good idea or is Nintendo really going downhill system-wise.
"I still like Nintendo, but I've never played an official Zelda game in my life"
-Me (not one second of Zelda, I've never played it before)
I think it is for people who cant afford the newest 3DS for their children
I know you can turn off the 3D Button but my cousin hates it because it hurts his eyes when he accidentally flips it
Price for 3DS XL,3DS(Averaged)- 184.99
I think it saves at least $55
This is a kid who wants it: "Mommy, i want a downgrade this Christmas!!! " WORST. IDEA. EVER. They're going downhill. I Mean the 3DS selled great actually i have one! I Don't NEED a 2DS because my 3DS is SO MUCH better!!! You can play your regular DS games on it! And you can turn off the 3D feature (it makes my eyes cross). what kind colors does your "2DS" come in? Boring Blue? Raging Red? I Mean serious Nintendo you've hit the jackpot because of the 3DS but now your going downhill.
A Nintendo lover and fan who has a 3DS XL.
I keep forgetting to mention that some things can only be found if you turn the 3D up. And on top of that (I'm not saying it'll happen, but it could), they might come out with a game then can only be played in 3D, and if they do... There's a very low chance of that happening, but it could. Just sayin'.
No stoppin' me "meow" "I had fun once. It was awful."~Grumpy Cat
I think the That Not being able to close it is a bad Idea. When I take my 3DS in a store And Decide I don't Want to Play it, I Put it in my Mom's Purse. This 2DS Wouldn't fit in my mom's Purse. It wouldn't Fit in alot of things..
Besides, Why not just wait until Christmas and get A 3DS?
Marxsoul:Huh?! Factsphere?! You're here! Oh, I thought you were gone forever! You're the video game master! Welcome back, Factsphere. So, you think this will work? Hmmm, it won't work on me, or my mom (she agrees it's useless), but it might work with other people. You can turn off the 3D with the switch or via Parental Controls, so I guess the 2DS is for parents who don't know how to turn off 3D.
"Factsphere! You told me about many things like the Miracle Cure!"
-Me (I asked what's the cure to the Blorbs, you answered)
At first, I had the same reaction: why would they make a 2ds if they already had a 3ds? If anything, it should be a 4ds, right? Actually, it is going to be a great Christmas gift because it is affordable and can play 3ds and ds games.Sleep mode is also convenient.
Hopenumbers:You can play DS games on a 3DS. Game Boy Advance games? I have a Game Boy Advance SP (it's old, has some scratches on the top, but it works fine). Also, you can play 3DS games on a 3DS, and you can turn off the 3D. So, I wouldn't be so sure it will be successful or even useful.
You didn't know I had a Game Boy Advance SP? I sometimes play Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga on there. I'm at the part at Joke's End, so I'm pretty far. If it's true you can play Game Boy Advance games, I'm not going to buy it unless it's different in a way.
"I don't have much time, I have to play Animal Crossing New Leaf"
-Reggie from Nintendo (don't be rude, cause I want a house like that!)
You can't play Game Boy Advance games on it. Not only did they say anything about on the website, or show a GBA slot, but it wouldn't be fair for people who bought the 3DS, because that doesn't play GBA games, either.
