- Yes, if it's something strange. I like surprising people.
- Depends. If it's vintage, maybe. If it's just old, that's inconsiderate.

- As long as the recipient can't tell it was used, who cares?
- If you used it already, that's no good. If you unwrapped it, but didn't use it, that's fine.

- Maybe, if the person collects cool pens, and I found a neat one.
