Did you know there are more than 24 MILLION Americans who identify as AAPI, or Asian American and Pacific Islander?!

Within the AAPI community there are more than 50 ethnic groups that speak over 100 different languages.

There is no singular AAPI experience. Everyone has their own unique traditions and beliefs. Every single person’s life and experiences are different!

AAPI and AANHPI are both acronyms, or words made up of initials. AAPI’s initials stand for Asian American and Pacific Islander. AANHPI stands for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander.

More and more, AANHPI is being used because it is a more inclusive term and recognizes people with Native Hawaiian heritage. Remember: each member of a community may identify themselves and their heritage in their own way!
